Who says Disc Golf isn’t a workout?

With a promise of coffee provided, 12 men posted for some fun and both exercise and fun ensued. After some warm-up exercises to allow the sun to rise just a bit higher (visibility matters on the disc golf course), we proceeded to the course for a game of Team Disc Golf played for skins…except that losing mattered. This made it interesting until the 3rd of our 4 teams holed their putt.

While waiting for every team to tee-off, all pax do WWII situps. After every throw, an exercise was called. The team who won the hole got to call the exercise for the next hole.

Results:

  • Team Kosar, Uncle Rico, Bijoux took 1st place with a differential of 5 (8 wins / 3 losses)
  • Team Bagboy, Canuck, and M-16 (2-2) tied with team Jersey Boy, Soprano, and Moses (5-5) with a differential of 0.
  • Team Boar Hog, Possum, and Waffle took last place with a differential of -5 (2 wins / 7 losses)

We closed out with mobility and 5 burpees to commemorate the losing team…or was it the winning team?

Moleskin:

  1. I consider this a team Q, as Kosar helped us choose teams right from the start and Waffle threw in the WWII situps on every hole.
  2. Kosar & Bagboy clearly cared about this old man's fitness as they threw in burpees and 8-count body builders when they had the choice for next exercises.
  3. Canuck and several others (who had very little experience with this workout) commented that it was more exercise than anticipated.
  4. I think we had some Kotters today (M-16?). Great to see you and others whom I haven't seen at a workout recently (U.Rico, Soprano, Boarhog).
  5. For those that don't know, we have Kotter tool on the website. You can find anyone who hasn't posted in the past month. This is why it's important to post your backblasts! So, look up the Kotters and then make some phone calls. Bring out a Kotter. As MOTY Gnarly Goat said at the Holiday Party, the EH is for you as well as the person whom you're EH'ing. Be 'selfish' and EH someone this week.
  6. Great participation for coffee with coffee provided by YHC and donuts by Waffle House.
  7. We discussed the direction of F3LKN, F3Isotope and the wise and energetic remarks of Swingstate and DonHo at the Christmas party…i.e. peaceful transfer of power ceremony.
  8. Kosar suggested we make DiscGolf a monthly tradition at BRP. It seems like it is already, but it's not official. How about the first Saturday of every month? What say you, Mr. Holland, Jersey, Waffle?

Canuck took us out, reverently. Go make a difference.

Twas my honor. Pax tibi, Moses
