The Vern…or something like it

7 pax came out on a chilly morning to face The Vern @FKT. The pre-blast mentioned some modifications so intrigue was high. But let’s be honest, with YHC Qing, anyone wondering if the modifications would include more difficult pain or more difficult running would have been silly. Clearly it was going to be more running. It was also decided that the modifications were too severe and what we did was NOT The Vern. Anyway….here's what we did, whatever it was called.

 

YHC, Don Ho, and Mr Holland arrived at 0510 for the 2 mile standard.

 

Once back to the AO, the course was explained….and the fear of increased running was confirmed. Here’s the course:

Run to the Birkdale clubhouse for 10 pull-ups (no change yet)

Run to the bridge for 20 dips (that was new)

Run to the bottom of Knox Hill for 25 merkins (that’s new and can only mean one thing)

Run to the top of Knox Hill for 30 LBCs (you’re all welcome)

That is one cycle….now do the cycle in reverse….

30 (more) LBCs at the top of Knox Hill

25 merkins at the bottom of Knox Hill

20 dips at the bridge

10 pull-ups at the clubhouse

Repeat as many times as you can and get yourself back to the launch point by 0615.

 

COT

It was a bit unlucky that Tugs did a similar workout last week but YHC was too lazy to think up something other than what he had planned. He also knew that more miles were needed this week because he has the Q again next week and we won’t get to the normal minimum 4 miles next week. It’s only fair, right? There was quite a bit of discussion and questions about next week's workout at COT. Be sure to check the PB next week for the start time.
