Programming overview:
Real Men Read Initiative is a program in which gentlemen business and community members from across the greater Charlotte area volunteer one hour of their time once a month to read to a classroom at Statesville Road Elementary. The program reinforces three fundamental principles: reading is fun, the community cares and a commitment to education can ensure success. We will supply each male with a book to read appropriate for the grade level.

? In order to participate you will need to complete the CMS volunteer application for Statesville Road. If you are already a registered volunteer you may have already received an email to update your volunteer profile. The link below will get you to the website in order to register. ? R.M.R. are asked to dress business casual if possible for overall presentation.
? R.M.R. will be placed on 1 of our 6 teams, this will be determined at the first meeting.
? The first 30 minutes of each Monday will consist of you being a part of Our Monday Morning Meetings and proceed back to class with our students to read the last 30 minutes of the hour.
From the event coordinator:
We will serve breakfast from 7:30-8:00. We will have our morning meeting from 8:00-8:20. We will have you guys be a part of that meeting and return to the classrooms following our meeting to read. We have the books available for you guys... So don't worry if a volunteer is not able to come at 7:30! We won't need you until 8:00
