Details: Many of you have heard Shamrock or YHC ask for prayer in support of our friend and co-worker, Curt Rahilly. Curt has been battling cancer for nearly a year. His family's world was rocked, they have moved numerous times seeking treatment and he has not been able to work since treatment began. Through all of the challenges, the one thing that has remained constant and only gotten stronger is their undying faith to our Lord. Curt is a strong-willed man and has been fighting heroically. He likely wants nothing more than to put this disease behind him and move on to enjoying the love of his family, friends, bride Michelle and daughter Pei. Well, this is the note we received yesterday from Curt…
It has be a long road since diagnosis, June 23, 2015, but I am thankful to report that I just completed my 6th and final chemotherapy treatment.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 13, I will be re-staged (they will perform the following tests: Bone marrow biopsy, MRI of bones and bone marrow, PET scan and Blood chemistry analysis). Combined results will indicate the cellular progress I have made. PLEASE PRAY that I reach “COMPLETE STRINGENT REMISSION". This would mean that the cancer is no longer detectable in my body/bone marrow. The test results will also help determine the prescription for my three years of maintenance which will be administered in the area where we will live. Dr. Morgan has advised that I plan my reentry into the workplace in the next couple of months. Having had positive ongoing conversations with my company, with great anticipation, I look forward to returning to work and a more normal family routine.
God bless you,
Curt
After receiving that we received this from his Wife, Michelle:
Three days ago Curt woke and told me his plan for the morning, “I am going to do some pushups, eat breakfast, shower and dress for Mass…” (It would have been his first day in many that he was not expected to be at the Infusion Center. And if it were not for the above named hurdles mentioned, we would have already departed Little Rock and he would be resting and recuperating from the standard treatment.) For sure there was a response right on my lips but I waited some moments to reply, then lovingly shared my thought, "Curt I love your drive and believe in you. May I suggest that you wait until you have a good couple of days before you do your push ups…”
Shortly thereafter, I shared this little exchange on our family text and my sister Lauri replied, “Love that push up idea. Let’s strengthen our bodies while strengthening our souls. How many push ups will you do for Curt today? Let’s make it a team effort. Report your numbers. Every push up… a prayer for Curt’s full recovery.”
Push Up. Prayer Up. Pass It On.
And Post your Pics and Numbers! You may wonder, how can a Push Up become a Prayer? Well it becomes one by simply “offering it up” and giving it to God. You see how we can easily and powerfully participate in the creative and healing power of God? We give it to him and he does the rest! I am convinced God loves these generous offerings and does even more than we could ever do alone. Turning the ordinary activities of our day into a holy action.
We look forward to seeing your photos and numbers!
Much love and humble thanksgiving for your prayers. We continue to remember you daily in ours!
We would love to provide many pictures and large 'Merican counts back to Curt and Michelle on Friday.Every push-up from the F3 PAX will be a prayer lifted up. Please join us in support of our brother in Christ!
Aye!
