On Sunday morning, December 17th, Camino Church will be hosting its Christmas Special and Toy givaway. We were asked to be present last year and it was a very moving experience. We are helping them again this year. I know many of you have asked me how you can help in addition to just donating toys. Here is a perfect opportunity as they are asking for volunteers to help wrap and to help the morning of the event. Please read below and contact me if you would like to participate.
Hi Greg, Here's the information I promised about the Toy Gift-Way. We have two wrapping parties scheduled for December 7th & 14th at the Camino Community Center at 6:30pm. The center is located at 201 Stetson Dr in Charlotte. You can bring your toy donations then or any time before then.
On Sunday, I need help in the following areas: OUTSIDE LINE GREETERS
No one likes waiting in line… UNLESS there’s an awesome team of Outside Line Greeters that keep the line
exciting and fun! This team will make lines a cool place to be by:
• Greeting and welcoming all guests
• Keeping up the holiday spirit by getting to know the guests and leading the line in
icebreaker activities
• Ensuring the guests are informed of the event status (count down until doors open,
what to expect once inside, etc.).
HO-HO-Hot Drink Servers
Hot Cocoa and Apple Cider… YUM! It’s beginning to taste a lot like Christmas, isn’t it? This team will warm
up the guests who are waiting by:
• Providing hot drinks (cocoa. apple cider, coffee) for those waiting to enter the building
• Engage with the guests and get them excited for what’s to come!
OUTSIDE ENTERTAINMENT
A wait becomes fun when there’s a party! That’s the purpose of the Outside Entertainment team. This
group of volunteers will:
• Provide various types of entertainment for those waiting in line like singing, dancing,
and even story telling. On December 16th, we will hold a special night to provide more details of what to expect on December 17th, volunteer training for all the service areas, volunteers will receive their Camino Volunteer shirts and we will end the night with a special time of prayer of the gifts and for the Toy Gift-a-Way on the 17th.
