***** Q versus Q – Isotope *****
Attn PAX – as some of you may be aware, several other F3 regions have held friendly "Q versus Q" competitions.
It's time to make this happen in Isotope.
Here's how this will work:
- We need 16 HCs from pax who would like to participate as Qs, going up against other Qs during May in a "last Q standing" competition.
- Please HC by sending YHC a direct message on Twitter / Slack, or by commenting below. First come, first served.
- Once there are 16 HCs, YHC will randomly assign the Q versus Q "Round of 16" matchups / construct a tournament-style bracket.
- In each round, the matched-up Qs (Q1 and Q2) will co-lead pax at a bootcamp workout, as follows:
- Q1 will give disclaimer and lead short warmup (2-3 min)
- Q2 will lead pax for 10 mins
- Q1 will lead pax for 10 mins
- Q2 will lead pax for 10 mins
- Q1 will lead pax for 10 mins
- Q2 will lead short cooldown/Mary (time permitting, 2-3 min)
- Q1 and/or Q2 will conduct COT (up to them which will handle)
- At end of COT, MQ (or, if not in attendance, his designee) will distribute simple paper ballots. Pax in attendance will vote for either Q1 or Q2. MQ (or designee) will then collect votes.
- After workout, MQ (or designee) will tally votes and announce F3Counts and winner (but not vote count) on Twitter/Slack. Winning Q will handle the BB (unless Qs want to share BB responsibilities).
- Voting Criteria – in determining which Q to vote for, pax should consider the following:
- Creativity – how creative was the Q's workout?
- Leadership – command, organization, handling of pax, recognition of need to audible
- Q-manship – quality / clarity of instructions, cadence, focus in spite of mumblechatter
- Overall Workout – balance of exercises, no pax standing around / no pax left behind (difficulty of workout not necessarily important, particularly if pax form / ability to complete suffers)
- Prior to each round, YHC will flip a coin for each matchup. The Q that wins the coin toss will be able to decide whether he wants to:
- Choose the AO where the matchup will occur (Isotope only – must coordinate with MQ of the workout – must select workout that is open on calendar, unless pax signed up to Q is willing to give up their spot) OR
- Choose which Q will be Q1 and which Q will be Q2.
- The Q that loses the coin toss will make the other determination (from above two bullets).
- Qs: please try to schedule each Q vs Q matchup within a reasonable timeframe (week to 10 days) so we can get through the full bracket during May (or, worst, May/June).
- Pax and participating Qs will all work together to help hold Qs accountable on time during each workout.
Note: This is supposed to be a fun / friendly competition. Pax: please support these workouts. Bring the mumblechatter, but participate and give the Qs an honest effort. Qs: No hurt feelings.
