3.14 miles for Pi day


7 men woke up to post at the old 0430 which is the new 0530 to get a slice of pain pie. YHC had no intentions of a themed workout, but as 0615 was approaching the spacewatch showed 3.11 miles… so naturally 3.14 miles had to be a goal. At least YHC, and maybe others, ran the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of a circle. That's pi if you paid attention in math class. Since the Garmin only goes to 2 decimal places we will have to settle for 3.14 miles. And aparently yes zeros do exist in pi and even a few repeats, but the number never stops. Here are the first 50 decimal places…

The Thing
CrossFit WOD Nicole. Nicole is 20 minutes of the following:
Run 400 meters, complete MAX pull-ups…AMRAP for 20 minutes

PAX completed somewhere between 0 and 12-15 pull-ups each round for their MAX.

Walk it out for a rest period to the track.

First lap, mosey the corners and turn up the heat on the straightaways

2nd lap (1.25 laps) Mosey the first 100 meters, then one full fast lap, walk it back to the launch pad

Moleskin

  • Mater was eager to get started with the workout and then was the first to complain. He also reminded YHC that 0613 still leaves 2 minutes of Mary.
  • Boomhauer started without gloves, ready to not use his hands. Q announces gloves may be wanted. Later states his legs are jello because yesterday was leg day
  • Dr. Dolittle decided the pull-up bar was too full so he skipped the first round of pull-ups, therefore gets a total score of DNF… just kidding we were all chasing him for the remainder of the 45 minutes though.
  • Shake Weight came up a little short 3.13 miles… dammit Strava
  • Sparrow flew in under the radar and put in the work.
  • Thrift shop and Boomhauer, as time expired, were eager to bust out the pull-ups… All still with great form.
