Pain With Running

7 pax posted for what I'll call Pain With Running — only because I am told that Titan has morphed into more of a bootcamp — but that today could be more accurately described as Running With Pain, a la the old Titan.

0500: DonHo ran a solo #Standard through Latta neighborhood.

0530: 6 pax were just about to leave the pool parking lot when Hoodie rolled in to make us a 7-some.

Extended mosey (as in a 0.5 mile mosey) to the pavilion off of Latta Springs Circle.  Fortunately someone (Jedi or Jingle, I think) knew where the switch was to cut on the lights to the pavilion.

Circle up, disclaimer.

WARM-O-RAMA:

  • SSH x 25 IC
  • IST x 10 IC
  • Toy Soldier x 10 IC
  • Slow Squat x 10 IC (pax disputed the "slow" label…. YHC may have been counting a little quickly)

THANG:

Find a table.  Tables were chained up, or YHC would have moved them and used them slightly differently, but no worries.  We did the following:

  • Dip x 10 IC
  • Incline Merican x 10 IC
  • Step-Up x 20 each leg

Repeato above, but only x 15 each leg on the Step-Ups.

Cut the lights and leave the pavilion.  Mosey around Latta Springs Drive, up to corner of Riverside Oaks Dr.  Plank while waiting for the six (YHC seemed to be the only one planking…. everyone else seemed to be chatting about basketball and Will Smith).  Collect up for Apolo Ohno x 20 each leg.

Mosey to New Bond Dr., take left and continue up to Neck Rd.  Stop and collect up.  After 10 count, Merican x 10 IC.

Mosey on Neck Rd. to Folkston Dr., collect up for Squat x 10 IC.  Pax questioned the Q's (lack of) concern for pax safety, as we were apparently exercising in the middle of the street.

Mosey to Canal Dr., collect up for Merican x 10 IC.  Q pulled the pax over to the side of the road this time, because Q cares about your safety (and also your fitness).

Mosey to Bronx Dr., collect up for Squat x 10 IC.

Turn on Alba Rose Ln and mosey till it ends at Lawings Corner Dr.  DonHo remarked on the way that Q seemed to be deliberately avoiding Mortimer Hill.  He wasn't wrong.  Collect up at Lawings Corner Dr. for Apolo Ohno x 20 each leg.  Some pax only did 20 total for some reason, and were left watching the rest of us.

Mosey back to the Latta pool parking lot for Mary:

  • Mason Twist x 10 IC
  • WWII x 20 OYO
  • Throw over to DonHo for Homer-to-Marge medley
  • Crunchy Frog x 10 IC
  • BURPEES x 10 OYO
  • Elbow Plank 1 minute

Recover, recover.

MOLESKIN:

  • YHC must admit, this was pretty vanilla.  Even Stray complimented YHC afterwards on the "average" Q.  I've not Q'd a ton so far in 2022, and apparently left all my creativity back in 2021, or maybe even sometime before then.  Sorry, guys – I'll do better next time.
  • In YHC's defense, this neighborhood doesn't really lend itself to traditional bootcamp.  Lots of houses, not many common areas, and not many places where pax can call cadence or otherwise mumblechatter without fear that we may be bothering residents.  The pavilion we moseyed to is a good spot, and maybe the pool pavilion, but I wonder if it might be better, if Titan remains a bootcamp, to move it back over to Hopewell, away from the houses and closer to apparatus, rock piles, walls, and other things we can use.  Just a thought.  I suppose the pax could run there.
  • Great to see some faces I've not seen in a while (totally my fault for not coming over to the West side more often).
  • It was announced in COT that 66 needs some helping hands this Saturday, April 2nd for a clean-up at Bradley Middle.  Any help appreciated between hours of 9am and 2pm.  See 66's Tweet here and/or reach out to 66: https://twitter.com/66_ptruong/status/1508128846025048070.
  • We prayed for the marriages of F3.  Keep your families close, and give them all the time, love, and grace that they deserve.
  • Thanks to Jingle Bells for the opportunity to Q this morning, and to DonHo for soliciting Qs for Titan (including mine) at his Q here a month ago.  Jingle needs more Qs in April, so please, help out if you can.  Thanks as always to Auto and Eeyore for the EH in June 2016…. I'm forever grateful.

Aye,

TC
