A Strand of 3 Cords is Not Easily Broken

It was a great morning as two PAX, Tuffy and HoneySuckle Blue joined YHC and took the offer for an early 5:15 am Fire Ball ruck from BRP.

This morning reminded me of a bible version

Ecclesiastes 4:12 "Though one can easily be overpowered, two can defend themselves, a cord of three strands is not easily broken."  Great inspiration for the upcoming QuarterRuck

As we began the early morning journey down Bailey Road, it was decided that we'd add some extra challenges by picking up our speed with moseys every mile.  Our rucking pace started faster than usual at 3.9 miles per hour.  Overall we completed the fire ball loop in a speedy 1 hour and 16 minues.  That's about 8 minutes faster than our previous ruck through the same route.

  • Great conversation along the way as Tuffy offered tips from experience: carry vaseline to reduce friction between your "parts" that rub, wool socks, consider bringing a lightweight windbreaker, special socks with holes for each toe helps prevent blisters, throw in a couple protein bars or candy in your ruck…just a few suggestions from an experienced rucker.
  • YHC apologized to HSB for making a joke about a snake in our last Spearhead, not realizing most peoples fear of slithering reptiles
  • Ruck ended with a COT and prayers lifted for Tuffy's brother's family for comfort and peace during this difficult time

Honored to be with these two fine men in the gloom!

Humbly in Christ,

Possum
