Multiple PAX out of the 111 PAX registered in the Denver Slack channel are away for the weekend/week (apparently with several posting DR). Of the ones around, only 4 were brave enough to post this morning. Did the preblast scare them off? From the tale of the 4 who took the DRP, today was absolutely brutal, so maybe it was a wise choice to do so. Luckily many more PAX around either ran, cycled, or did their own hero workout. The important thing is men got better today, but this story isn't about them.
Today's beatdown, sweatfest, whatever you want to call it comes to us via our brothers from other mothers, F3 Leheigh, PA fallen PAX #treehugger. Below is what we did…
10 pull-ups
20 V-ups
30 Merkins
40 yard Burpee Broadjumps
50 yard heartcharger (and lung depleater), aka sprint
1/2 mile run (0.55)
repeato for 5 total rounds
Moleskin
All 4 of us, including YHC arrived early (shocker, right?) to the "AO" between the actual Denver AO's, Rescue Squad Park. We were greated by 4 ladies walking their dogs around the 1/2 mile track. Clark and "New Guy", aka Dirt arrive first, give the fist bump and exchange names. Dirt was already donning an F3 shirt, so maybe he is a visiting PAX. Afterall, Dry Pond Springs used to be a vacation spot some 100+ years ago, so clearly Denver NC is a must visit place. However Dirt just moved here from Gastonia after living there over 40 years, aka Gas House. Welcome Dirt. He has already vowed to be a regular M-W-F poster. Dirt is in the "Honor" group of F3 PAX, also known as "Respect Respect". He definitely earned his double respect today, Abrams also posted today, walking with a limp in true Abrams style, recovering from the hills of Verdict Ridge on Sunday. Abrams still Abramed, and crushed the workout. Shirley and Clark also reunite. It's been a while since these 2 have shared some time in the gloom. By the way, Shirley has an unfair advantage on burpee broadjumps. His legs are actually 5' long, so he only had to do 1/2 the burpee broadjumps of anyone else to make it 40 yards. Also to note, YHC began the workout with a 20 lb vest, but quickly realized with V-ups and broadjumps that this was not ideal, and the vest was discarded.
Reflection
Romans 6 1-14
When I read this I thought of double jeopardy, you can't be charged twice for the same crime (sin) and Jesus already paid that price with his life for us, through grace we are made new.
Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ
1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
