Frosty Five at Bailey Road Park

Event Date

Nov 19, 2022

AO

With temperatures just below freezing, 5 men warmed up quickly for a near 3 mile bootcamp beatdown. It went down something like this but not exactly like this 🙂

Warm-a-Rama in center of turf field including SSH’s, IST’s, Toy Soldiers, Air Squats, Donkey Kicks, Mountain Climber, 5 Burpees OYO

Mosey to far-most field and complete a lap around the track followed by incline merkins, dips on wall and a brief mobility moment

Mosey back towards Wolfpack Park and down K2, the long slow decline towards the back of BRP. Follow asphalt trail up towards tennis courts, stopping at the grassy and frosty hills.  Descending burpee ladder starting with 5 burpees at the top, with quadraphelia up the hill.

Mosey to tennis courts where the “Serena Williams” was performed, the exact same exercise as the J-Lo with a tennis theme.

PAX then performed 5 rounds of “separators” on the tennis court, previously known as suicides but more appropriately named.  Thanks to Airstream for the name and reminding us that these are important for us to work on for change of direction

Mosey over to picnic benches for step ups, incline merkins, and dips.

Mosey to Bailey Road, and up long hill to intersection of Hwy 115 and Bailey Road, stopping for Monkey Humpers

Mosey back down Bailey Road and up the half pipe where YHC called an audible after recalling Jersey Boy not getting to spend enough time at the 115 intersection.  The halfpipe-like topography along this stretch is affectionately known as 90210 but YHC can’t remember why it was given this name circa 2012, but it’s a brutal incline when done multiple times.  PAX moseyed back to the 115 intersection for an additional dose of 90210.

PAX ended with 4 minutes of MARY including LBC’s, Pretzel Crunch, Freddy Mercury’s, and Low Flutter.

  • Seriously solid work by everyone.  Each of you reached extra deep this AM and this was a great example of Iron Sharpening Iron and pushing each other beyond what may not be possible when working out OYO.
  • YHC super stoked to have his 2.0 Michael make it for his second post and honored to present his nickname “Phoenix”, after sharing how special Elon University is.
  • Thanks to JB and Canuck for ensuring this would not be a sad clown workout, knowing there was potential for a large turnout at Mighty Jungle for Firestone’s 10 year F3 Anniversary. Congrats Firestone!
  • Although Airstream is still relatively new to F3 Lake Norman he has been super consistent as YHC continues to see him at other AO’s throughout the week!  Hope BRP will be a regular for you Airstream, really enjoy having you!
  • Prayers for Canuck’s M as she travels this week to pickup their daughter and others from college and special praise on their growing family as their extended family welcome a new grandchild.

Always an honor and privilege to Q such a fine group of men in the gloom.   Thanks to each of you who came out and accelerated your fitness and fellowship this morning!
