It was tough today

AO

5 of the toughest in Isotope came out at what can only be described as 4:15 (the clock is lying) and crushed the work. It really was tough to get started as my car clock still showed 4:00 am as I left the house. WTAF? However, I knew there would be others doing the same and that kept me going. Sure enough, I was correct. The Pax started to gather and then we were off on a slow mosey past the new Cheesecake Factory (no one needs this monstrosity but here we are…) back to Starbucks to the green for a warmorama:

The Thang:

Mosey past the movie theater to the steep hill down to the pond and circle up for the first exercise. Gentlemen, I introduce you to the never before seen – American Crawls. This is a Merican with a bear crawl. Starting with 1 merican and move ahead one crawls, then 2 mericans, and move 2 crawls, 3-3, … all the way up to 10. This was a smoker because in addition to the Mericans, you were crawling the entire time with no rest. Throw in the hill, and it amplified the suck. This is a keeper. 10 count at the top.

Mosey back down for Lunge walks up the hill with a twist (focus on good form and working the core).

Introducing excercise #2 to the Pax. The gorilla burpee. Similar to a burn bootcamp purple (no pushup), but keeping your hands on the ground and jumping up the hill like a gorilla. Again, this was brutal. Another keeper.

Mosey back to the start for some work on the green.

2 to a bench for dips

2 to a bench for Bench Squats. It was at this time the security guard arrived and asked what we were doing. We explained and he mostly bought it. We did another round of dips and then moved to the mobility portion of the workout.

Up on the stage for Runners Pose, Runners Stretch, Spinal Twist, & Canuck’s BLMFRs. Finish with some pigeon’s.

Moleskine:

Crocs was happy we got a little running in, but was a little shocked by the intensity of some of the work which was not very gentlemanly. Also, thanks for the topic of generosity to discuss today.

Canuck, fresh off the community garden refresh, took the opportunity (YHC asked him to) lead us in BLMFR’s. If you haven’t tried these before, your glutes are missing out. They are a game changer.

Stromboli is recovering from a back issue and was able to take advantage of the mobility moments to keep the back loose.

Jedi was very able today. It is a reference to our coffeeteria discussion. He was able to do all the exercises, and then able to add solid discussion topics.

Upcoming QvQ’s tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday should be great events. Prayers up for Crab Legs M, and his whole family, the aging parents and caregivers of F3, Moonlight and Harper in their continued recovery, and all the unspoken prayers.

Until next time when I SYITG
