Airstream and Jersey Boy joined YHC at Bailey Road Park for a March Madness extravaganza. After witnessing one of the biggest upsets in NCAA college basketball history the night before, YHC had plans to throw in a little basketball trickery at Bedrock in honor of the Fairleigh ridiculous upset by Fairleigh Dickinson University. Who said size matters? Not the Knights. Statistically, FDU had the smallest team in the tournament but apparently a bigger heart than Purdue in a classic David and Goliath matchup.
Here’s roughly what went down Saturday morning. After a brief disclaimer, mosey to the parking lot next to the basketball court with a brief warm-a-rama. For a moment PAX thought we would have a fourth, until the unknown man pulling up in his truck heading to play a round of frisbee golf.
PAX got their cardio ramped up by doing 5 sets of “Separators”. With their heart rates already elevated, YHC presented the basketball challenge: Starting with a layup and gradually increasing the distance, PAX took alternating shots on the basketball court. A missed shot would result in 10 merkins. Overall PAX shot a bunch of baskets, missed most of them and ended up doing a ton of merkins and air squats. Airstream saved us from one last “penalty” by correctly answering “UMBC” to a college basketball trivia question. Google UMBC and Fairleigh Dickinson to find out what the question was. It will surely be a future question in Trivial Pursuit. Wait, do people even play that game anymore.
From there, mosey over to the playground/shelter where PAX would do 3X10 of dips and incline merkins. Mosey towards Bailey Road to the “halfpipe”. Mosey up Bailey Road to Hwy 115 where PAX would have a mobility moment and perform air squats. PAX then performed another round of cardio, with a mosey down Bailey Road and back up the hill (halfpipe) X 3. This may have been the biggest challenge of the morning but as we’re reminded in scripture “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12).
A few more rounds of mobility were performed before returning to the parking lot area for a few rounds of MARY.

- YHC’s first Q since ankle injury almost 4 weeks ago and so grateful for Airstream’s professional care, guidance and multiple ankle wraps prior to workouts.
- This morning provided a healthy does of fitness and fellowship and a great way to kick off the weekend.
- Airstream talked about his St. Patrick’s day tradition with his friends – a day long (sun-up to sun-down) gathering at a local pub over Guinness and bar food. It was unclear how many Guinness pints were consumed but Airstream seemed unfazed by any over-indulgence the day prior as he crushed the workout.
- JB appears to be fresh and recovered from a prior injury and provided plenty of enthusiasm as he slayed Bedrock this morning – Awesome job JB!
- Reminder next Saturday 3/25 is the 10 year anniversary for F3 Race City at Stumpy Creek in Mooresville, look for the pre-blast reminders.
- JB encouraged PAX about considering charitable contributions to others in need. Thanks brother-good reminder!
- YHC closed PAX in prayer.
Always an honor and privilege to lead in the gloom and this morning was an especially great time!
Humbly in Christ,
Possum
