Full body with sweaty notes

9 gloom warriors assembled in the morning.  Two ran in, 6 drove in normal and 1 came in with 4×4 on 2 wheels.  Things happened between 0530 and 0615 that brought forth a full body beat down.  See for yourselves

COP happened — special prayers up for AMPM’s cousin, Lisa, as she recovers from a heart attack.

Arnie’s full body moleskin:

  • AMPM and Eeyore both arrived to an F3 workout before 0532.  Eeyore still came in on two wheels even though he wasn’t late — old habits die hard.
  • There was a subtle lesson in the financial concept of compounding in that second set of block work.  Over Budget gets it!
  • Speaking of which, there was a proclamation that he should be called Over Achiever as he ran the extended parking lot loop.
  • Magnus is always at a workout, just not the one you were at.  So no need to say welcome back!
  • Tuffy did tuffy things.  By that I mean he got after it and didn’t complain.  Always solid work.
  • Tclaps to Cobra and CherryBomb for putting in the extra work and running in/out of the AO
  • ****Any inappropriate Puerto Rican references have been redacted from this backblast.
  • Tammy Faye, thank you for the opportunity to lead the men this morning.  Great leadership from you of a great AO.
  • What I learned today:  I made a goal at the beginning of the year to be able to do a full Murph solo by the end of the year….meaning all 10 sets of 10 pull ups without assistance.  The Boat Guster crew has remained steadfast in accountability for me.   Today, CherryBomb casually asked if we were hitting the pull up bars today.  The idea that if I was the Q, I controlled my own destiny so why wouldn’t I put pull ups in the workout.   YHC had not planned on it.  But it was a great reminder.  No shame, no assertion, no pressure.  Just raising awareness and leaving it there on the table.  It was effective.  YHC changed the latter part of the workout and we got 3 sets of 10 pull ups in.   So be like Cherry Bomb (and the Boat Gusters).  When you form a relationship, invest in it so that it is deeper than the surface.  In doing so, you will invest in someone’s growth.  And you may help them with accountability when they find themselves unaware they are even neglecting it.  I’m learning a lot about diligence and discipline and determination from Cherry Bomb.  You can too.
