6 PAX for ideal temps on a Friday. Great company, great weather and well, then there was the e-bike guy again, however he didn’t distract us from the task at hand 👊
Pledge of Allegiance
Warm-aroma: SSH IC X 15, Toy Soldiers IC X 10, Imperial Storm Trooper IC X 10, Long Snapper IC X 10
Mosey to rock pile for:
The slinky ladder with rocks – the ladder consisted of 5 reps, squats at the telephone pole and Carolina Dry Docks at the turn in the sidewalk, with a catch. The slinky is a set of coils with a concentration of coils at the front of the slinky that start the slinky motion (equivalent of hard chargers in F3) and the back of the slinky that doesn’t move until all coils collectively move (equivalent of the 6 in F3). Well the hard chargers start the ladder exercises, however not until the 6 finishes their exercises do all PAXs move to the other end of the ladder. At the start PAX did 5 reps of the following: Curls X 2, overhead chest press X 2, skull crushers. Then the declining count slinky ladder started with 5 squats and ended with 1 CDD. Back to the rock pile for: rock squats, backwards lunge each leg, forward lunge each leg. Repeato until the ladder is done. Basically rock work in-between each slinky ladder.
Vampirini to stop sign for core – American hammer, rock LBCs, rock extended low flutter, chest press, behind head extension hold, rock LBCs.
Return the rocks to the rock pile and Mosey to the entrance for: Apollo Onos X 20 OYO, Mericans X 10 count (in honor of Jazzhands). As headlamps appeared in the distance PAX performed monkey humpers for the 4 Bangers.
Mosey to launch for mobility moment: pigeon into Upward Pigeon, child’s pose, Cat Cow, thread the needle
Recover, Recover
Announcements: book collection for https://promising-pages.org/, annual F3 Christmas party
Prayer requests: PAX Jorel for his Mother passing, PAX Mulligan for his Father passing and PAX Toby for his Father in Law passing and those PAX’s families
Moleskin – Fridays are an ideal day for loafing around, but certainly not for these 5 PAX, no sir!!! Appreciate each PAX for their conscious decision to get outta bed and put work in. Which was highlighted by the steam arising from a few PAX bodies this GLOOM. I’m certainly much better for it and thank you for the honors of leading this morning 👊
Great back blast, but one correction. Assuming you’re referring to carrying rocks (or any heavy things) overhead, we call that “Zamperini” in F3 as a reference to Louis Zamperini who was forced to hold a log overhead for hours as punishment as a POW in the movie Unbroken.
Now if you’re talking about flying around with a cape and biting e-bike riders to suck their blood, then I suppose that might be a Vampirini!
Thank you for the suggested correction Blackbeard 👍.
Missing you out in the GLOOM.
I’ll leave my imperfect spelling. I’m no professional, so I misspelled word is more me. It even means I’m human and ChatGPT didn’t write this Back Blast.
I do appreciate you letting me know about Louis Zamperini.
Some of the stories about the suffering endured by Louis Zamperini in the book “Unbroken” (and I presume the movie, too) are almost unbelievable, but a little exaggeration improves most stories, so we’ll allow it. Regardless, the man is a legend and it’s a story only outdone by the one in “Coming Out of the Ice” by Victor Herman. It’s out of print and hard to find (see me for input if you’re interested), but after reading it you will never again be able to feel sorry for yourself.
Sounds very intriguing JB. I’ll take the bait and ask you the next time we post at the same AO.
I’m intrigued by the backblast title. Can you elaborate on the colt, (or cult??) commentary? Cause I too am familiar with the mysterious and aloof e-biker of the night. 😂
Of the gloom*
I assume that the e-bike guy was referring to colt – a young uncastrated male… because of the F3 PAX in attendance, none of us are uncastrated males 🤣😂.
Though, when e-bike guy rode by, all PAX were on our 6s, so maybe, just maybe he was talking about cult – a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs.
But e-bike guy does have cult feelings – a misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing 👍
