Another sub 25 degree morning to prepare for and YHC had been out in it Mon, Tues and Wed. Staring at another Q and a fcst of 23 degrees, YHC felt it was time to innovate. So the plan was set. Tuffy was in his vehicle upon YHC’s arrival at 0525. We both remained in our cozy vehicles as long as possible, wondering if other pax might show and wondering if the other would get out of simply drive away… We we emerged and we got after it. Just the 2 of us.
Warmup mosey around the parking lot in case of any late arrivals. Nope, so we left. On foot – we didn’t give up because YHC has something special in store. We traveled on foot through Torance and found ourselves in YHCs driveway and with a convenient app on the smartphone, the garage door would open to display a mini-gym complete with bench press, 4 kettle bells of various weights, 2 dumbells of 35 lbs each, a huge ball and a small ball to play with, a yoga mat already laid out (w/ yoga block of course) and right in the middle of the garage…. the big, long, thick, black… rope was on display.
We started with old fashion bench press, then flies. What a burn. Then we both used the other equipment to get in other arm work and core work while SportsCenter played on the tv to the side. We actually had to turn the heater off…
We finished up and hit the road again on foot back to the AO launch. Cars still there, even more frozen than before.
It was different and it was good and it was the warmest we’ve been all week while getting stronger and getting some running in.
