AO

Today is the day that I became the MQ of Fallout.  I appreciate Gambini for his leadership over the past year as well as how quickly he removed himself from the MQ chat space.

To get to know what all this AO has to offer, we did one final walk-through of the property before I closed on the Fallout MQ duties.  Fortunately, we had Tantrum, Snake Eyes, and Freedom there to help make sure that Gambini left the property in the proper condition.

Warmorama:

SSH, IST, Hillbillies, slow windmill, long snapper, toy soldiers

The Thang:

The first part of our inspection was at the big kids’ playground where we did 10 pull-ups and then moved to the little kids’ playground for some decline merkins.

Then we moseyed and then did some lunge walks to the bottom of the field to do a very abbreviated Kamikaze (an ode to Gambini’s attempt to establish this as a regular workout).  To Freedom’s disappointment, I did not hire a bagpiper to stand at the top of the hill (this needs to happen sometime again though!).

Through the Kamikaze we did merkins, jump squats, dry docks, diamond merkins, and burpees.  We were then headed to the wall, but stopped by the construction site of the new bathrooms and did some block work of curls, skull crushers, and overhead press.  Gambini loved his block so much, he decided to carry it with him to the next stop on our tour – I told him that he might want to leave it somewhere, to which Tantrum corrected me and talked of allowing him to learn the natural consequences of his actions.

We went to the wall of Barnette for praying mantis, where we debated the effectiveness of the workout.  We then hit the docks for some lazy dock workers and then to the upper playground for more pull-ups because it’s a “new year, new you” for all of us.

We moseyed to Bradley for some agility work on the four-square courts from my tennis days.  We start in the middle of the square and then touch each corner with our hands two times – returning to the middle of the square each time.  We did this twice, to which Snake Eyes said that this workout was a sneaky one.

We then went to the benches for some step-ups, and then to the picnic tables for incline merkins.  We hit the ballfield for some skipping around the bases, but I may have been the only one skipping.  Then we went to the shed and bear crawled up the hill for some balls-to-the-wall.  We completed our tour with some Mary at the shelter.

Moleskin:

The Pax all agreed that the condition of this AO was enough to close on the property, but we were all shocked how low the numbers were today.  I hope to see more people out as we go through the year.  Despite that, I will agree to close on this MQ opportunity, but it will need some minor repairs.  Thanks to Snake Eyes for taking us out in prayer.

Also, the calendar is wide open, so hopefully we will see some spots fill in soon.  To help with this, I am stealing Estwing’s patch idea (I didn’t see it copyrighted anywhere and it apparently worked well – nice job Estwing!).

To get a patch at the end of the year: the Pax will need to post at Fallout 12 times and Q Fallout 4 times.  (patch design shall be forthcoming)

UPDATE: (per Tantrum’s request): I will add a bourbon tasting at the patch awarding ceremony later this year for those meeting the requirements.

Until next time…

– Drebin
