YHC was not sure how many would be able to post the day after Easter but to my great pleasure we had a great gathering of F3 Isotopes most seasoned veterans. Just a bunch of Baby Boomers and a few Generation X’ers sprinkled in, just a bunch of guys who cut off their jeans to make shorts, pulled their socks to their knees and wore “chucks”. Just a bunch of guys that played games called “murder ball” and “smear the queer” at recess, a bunch of guys who thought playing pong was cutting edge, who topped out playing video games like Pac-Man. Just a bunch of guys who played outside from morning until dark and prayed they would not hear their mom call their name. A bunch of guys who rode their Schwinn StingRays to corner drug stores to buy Now and Laters and Bazooka gum, collected football and baseball cards, cut lawns, served papers, stole packs of their Dads cigarettes and smoked until their head spun. A bunch of guys who would die for their brothers and buddies, their best subject in school was gym. A bunch of guys that had to call their first sweetheart on the house phone and pray her Dad or brother wouldn’t pick it up. Thinking about all of that, maybe that was just Airstream.
We had a great morning…what did we do? heck if I know. I think we did age appropriate stuff, stretched our tight backs and our even tighter hips, told lies and thanked the Lord for all the blessing he has bestowed upon all of us!
