YHC returned from a biz trip in Alabama last night just in time to plan my Q for Samson this morning. PB was sent from AL to ensure punctuality. 4 pax including YHC took advantage of the perfect weather and if any of the pax saw the PB, they definitely didn’t know what was in store…
YHC was DR for the 9/11 Memorial Stadium Workout yesterday, but was glad to meet up with my F3 brothers of Huntsville (not to be confused with HuntERsville) on Tuesday AM for (accidentally) IronPax and they shared their 9/11 plans for the following day. So yesterday while YHC hated to miss our local convergence, it was great to hit the stairs down there at 0500 and YOWZERS the calves are screamin’ today! Gambini reported the same pain in the gloom before we got started, so YHC had a plan for loosening us both up a bit. Here’s how it went… and yeah – it hurt.
Slow mosey across the parking lot, then turn South instead of North (as was noted by Snake Eyes immediately). As we approached the stairs on the side of LFC, there was loud protest from Gambini. Elmers on the other hand was silent. Turns out Elmers had no idea there were stairs at this AO.
The pax would take turns on the stairs. While 1 pax did suicides up and down the stairs, the other 3 would do a Mary exercise. Then the next pax. When all 4 pax had taken on the stairs… repeato. We’d go in reverse order though – just because YHC thought it would be funny for Elmers since he went last… and then first. 🙂
After 2 sets each of stairs suicides and a fair amount of core and warm-o-rama work, we’d mosey back over to the parking lot. Starting with the bottom row, we’d build suicides one section at a time until after a few rows we were doing a full suicide the length of the parking lot. Then we’d wind down, and by the top row were were back to just the short section again.
And so, we found ourselves properly warmed up and next to the blocks. We’re done with legs today – and YHC meant it this time.
Block work of Colt 45 curls, Skull Crushers, Chest Presses and Lawn Mowers – and our fair share of reps let’s say. There was moaning. Mighta been groaning. Lotsa reps.
Blocks back, mosey down to the vehicles where we started for Mary.
2 full rounds of pax calling Mary, plus about a 30 second plank to finish it off.
That seemed to hit just right. Great group with all types of dialogue, encouragement, some mumblechatter and perhaps even some useful information here and there which most certainly has since been forgotten. But this BB won’t be, because YHC has posted it, and all is right in Isotope with The Force again.
Aye. Moleskine sprinkled around in the above.
