9 PAX gathered at Birkdale Village to celebrate Christopher Columbus’ arrival on the Catawba River back in 1973.  Contrary to widespread misinformation on the world wide web that Columbus arrived in 1492, that myth has been recently exposed through the use of AI and fact checking in the new and improved X platform.  Lack of photographs and physical evidence of the so-called Santa Maria has always caused skepticism among history buffs worldwide. 

FNG-1 is “Grumpy”, Soprano’s 2.0

8 PAX covered 2 plus miles along “Turtle Pond Hill” and performed an ascending and descending ladder of exercises primarily focused on lower and upper body, while GG did a modified workout along the inner circle of Birkdale Village.  A healthy dose of mobility was mixed in along the way and we all gathered on the green for a little MARY.

Airstream was quite vocal in his displeasure of a “horseshoe-like” workout this AM, given the next day’s real horseshoe at PAINinsula. Not surprising though, him and Stromboli were both front-runners throughout the beatdown.

Prayers up for the Hurrican victims and their families in Western North Carolina and Florida

The topic of  “Christian Nationalism”, which is often heard in political circles, was discussed from a faith-based perspective.  Lots of good discussion and points were made regarding how followers of Christ are called to put their faith in God above all else while still embracing the freedom to celebrate our patriotism and deep gratitude for the United States.
