6 PAX showed up at Fission just  12 days before Christmas Eve. We journeyed to Mt. Zion and performed exercises and ladders in sets of 12. Merkins, squats and a solid offering by Canuck of his patented BLMF’ers were eagerly performed by all PAX and we ended with a bit of core work. The workout was overshadowed by a surprising twist when we learned who recently adopted JB’s foster German Shepherd. Here’s a recap which was published today in Lake Norman Times.

“Bill Belichick, the 72-year-old football mastermind, had journeyed to Huntersville, NC, not for gridiron glory but for love and a German Shepherd named Max. With his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordan Hudson, by his side, they made an unlikely but charming pair, their 50-year age gap the talk of the town.

It all started when Jordan, scrolling through Jersey Boy’s dog foster page on Facebook, spotted Max’s soulful eyes and knew he was the one. “Bill, look at this guy,” she said, showing him the post. “He’s perfect for us.”

Jersey Boy, the dog fosterer, was ready to hand over Max after a brief, one-sided conversation with Bill, but he had one last test. “Hold on, Coach,” he said, “I need to see some evidence. You’ve got to show me your estate planning is in order, and if anything happens to you, Max here goes to someone who’ll take good care of him. Say, an elderly blind man who could use a companion like Max.”

Bill, usually unflappable, raised an eyebrow. Jordan, however, burst into laughter, finding the request both absurd and hilarious. “You’re serious?” Bill asked, his usual monotone betraying a hint of amusement.

Jersey Boy nodded, “Dead serious. I’ve seen too many dogs lose their homes after their owners… well, you know. I want an assurance Max will be loved no matter what.”

With a sigh, Bill pulled out his phone, navigated through his secure files, and showed Jersey Boy a document. “Here,” he said, pointing at a clause that, indeed, named an elderly, blind friend of his as Max’s guardian should anything happen to him.

Jersey Boy, now thoroughly amused and impressed, clapped his hands, “Well, I’ll be damned, Coach! You’re not just a football genius; you’re a dog-loving one too!”

But the surprises didn’t end there. As they were leaving, Bill’s phone rang again. It was the UNC athletic director with the coaching offer. With Max’s future secured and Jordan’s encouragement, Bill accepted, adding, “And Max will be our official team mascot and morale officer.”

Jordan, still chuckling about the estate planning twist, added, “And don’t forget, Max’s got a retirement plan too!”

Jersey Boy couldn’t resist one last quip as they were about to leave, “And Coach, make sure you’ve got your ‘meds’ to keep up with this young lady!”

Bill, with a rare smirk, replied, “Don’t worry about that; I’ve got my playbook for that too.”

Jordan, with a playful wink, chimed in, “Yeah, and let’s just say his ‘offense’ is more than just for the football field. He’s got some moves that would make even the playbook blush.”

Jersey Boy chuckled, “Well, I guess when you’ve got a coach like Bill, every play is a touchdown, whether on the field or… elsewhere.”

Thus, Bill Belichick, with his much younger girlfriend and their newly adopted dog, embarked on a new adventure in North Carolina. The story of their age difference was now just a footnote to a tale of love, strategic planning, unexpected humor, and the playful, seductive banter that only true love can inspire.”

Lots of prayer requests were shared and offered up this morning.

All the best to our HH participants this weekend!
