Today was The Force vs Gambini in round 1 of QvQ (2 competitions took place yesterday and another took place today over at Gladiator). 11 pax plus the 2 dualing Qs showed up for a 2 for 1 beatdown and to see which Q would advance to round 2.
Gambini would go first. But before the disclaimer (if there was one?), Ping would read the scoring rules – and these rules included nothing about bribery. So following the reading of the rules, Gambini would reveal a prize to be awarded at the end of the workout. A (unopened) bottle of bourbon for the pax who have the most and harshest mumblechatter to The Force (YHC) during the workout. Ouch! Well played, Gambini.
Typical warm-o-rama, followed by political trivia. Gambini would quiz the pax on the below trivia questions between sets of exercises and a short mosey, as well as pull-ups and people’s chair and a self proclaimed Q-fail at the partner run-around-the-building portion.
name all 7 huntersville town board members – mayor christy clark, jennifer hunt, amanda dumas, alisia bergsman, latoya rivers, edwin quarles, nick walsh
name your district 1 county commissioner – elaine powell
name your district 1 school board member – melissa easley
how much did the new town hall cost taxpayers? $30.4 million
largest town department by expense – huntersville police, $21.5 million
current property tax rate in huntersville – 22.75 cents per $100 valuation
what 3 town employees does the town board hire directly – town manager, town attorney, town clerk
At 0553, it was YHC’s turn. We would talk about what it takes to be a champion in life and at F3, then as a group the pax would pursue the championship belt together. We made our way around the soccer fields doing 2 key exercises at each corner, one being focused on strength and cardio, other being on core/health (like glute bridges, Suzanne Somers, Stretches, etc).
All the pax made it to all 4 corners, found the belt, returned it back to the start where we would also find YHC’s big, long, thick, black… rope. We’d spend a few minutes here with core work and the challenge of never letting your feet touch the ground (ouch).
Recover, recover followed by a lengthy discussion among the judges (Toby, Ping, Marker).
YHC/The Force would be named the winner of a very close battle, but today all the pax were winners.
Aye.
