A Block-buster Morning at The Sword

YHC in some sort of brain fog yesterday.  Maybe it was the two Stella Artois Belgian refreshments consumed while was watching the mind-blowing magic of Mr. Curry during Game 7 on Sunday, but two PAX let me know this morning that neither the AO, the location or the time was mentioned in the pre-blast- 🙂

Regardless – 15 strong showed up at The Sword for a cinder block-buster workout which also included 1.28 Strava-verified miles. Awesome seeing Amen and Peart Plus run a standard before the normally scheduled 530am workout.  Perfect example of Iron Sharpening Iron – nice work Amen and Peart Plus!

After a long slow Mosey around the LFC parking lot, each of the PAX grabbed a cinder block and circled up for a brief warm-a-rama. Lots and lots of reps were done using the cinder blocks and included exercises like bent-over rows, curls, shoulder presses and merkins.  Also mixed in were air squats, wide-grip merkins, single count merkins and perfect merkins (down on 3).

PAX would alternate between the above exercises and a lap of farmer’s carries.  PAX performed at least 3 farmer’s carry laps and a couple of long laps around the parking lot to keep the heart rate elevated for a little cardio conditioning as well. PAX also moseyed to the basketball court area for People’s Chair, Praying Mantis and Air Squats.

A little bit of MARY was mixed as well – LBC’s, Low Flutters and Imperial Storm Troopers.

Lots of great chatter this morning and you know when Toxic is “in the house”, that’s a given!

It was mentioned that Black Eyed Pea was doing something unusual with the cinder block but not clear on exactly what – YHC thinks Frogger pointed that out.

  • Really great praise report by The Force about his mom’s optimistic health outlook – so good to hear brother
  • Please continue to pray for Ultraman’s mother as her health is declining – continuing to lift you and your entire family up brother
  • Pray for Rocket as he recently came down with Covid
  • Look for upcoming 3rd F opportunities on 5/6 with the Habitat House project in Mooresville, and the Smithville Curbside Cleanup on the same day.
  • Coming up on 5/15 and 5/16 is a large service project where lots of men are needed(10 each day).  A donation from the F3 Foundation will go towards building a walkway for Mr. McAllister, a man who served our country. Contact Goat for details to help make this happen.

It simply doesn’t get any better for YHC than working out with 14 other PAX who chose to get up early and accelerate their fitness.  Always grateful for the opportunity to Q at The Sword!
