Five men made it out for the first workout of the year resolving to do better. It seemed like a positive first step

Grab a brick / paver. Mosey to back lot with bricks in tow. Do a bunch of exercises with bricks in a set then run around track with those same bricks

1st set – chest

  • 10 part Man maker mercans

  • Decline mercans on curb

  • Incline mercans on curb

2nd set – shoulders

  • Squats with OH press

  • Front raises / side raises and back

  • Shoulder flies

  • Trapezoids / upright row

3rd set – back, biceps and triceps

  • 10 pull-ups

  • 10 knee raises

  • Bent over rows

  • Gun show curls

  • Reverse flies

  • Dips on curb

  • Skull crushers

  • Tri extensions

  • Diamond brick mercans

4th set – legs

  • Walking lunges

  • Squats with curls

  • Punch-out inspired set (rapido)

    • OH press

5th set – abs

  • Dying cockroach

  • W ups

  • Brickmason twist

  • Leg lifts with bricks with each Pax counting down from 10 at their preferred pace

  • It was great to see Double Double and Pinky show some resolve and make it out in what seemed like a month of Sundays

  • Wet December has made its way into Dry January

  • The first sign of withdrawal are a case of the shakes

  • Double Double got an old school Nintendo 64 for Christmas.Punch-out opponents/characters (sans Mike Tyson) include:

    • Glass Joe: A wimp from Paris, France. First fought in the Minor Circuit

    • Von Kaiser: An ex-military officer from Berlin, Germany. Second opponent in the Minor Circuit

    • Piston Honda: An experienced boxer from Japan. He is champion of the Minor Circuit and if hit when his eyebrows go up and down the player earns a star

    • Don Flamenco: He was a bull fighter from Spain before becoming a boxer. Don is the first fighter from the Major Circuit and the first fighter to need a strategy involving his taunts

    • King Hippo: An overweight fighter from Hippo Island, South Pacific. He can only be hit whilst his hand goes way up in the air. Hippo is a Major Circuit Boxer

    • Great Tiger: An Indian boxer that knows how to teleport. He can be quite difficult to defeat as his moves can be hard to understand

    • Bald Bull: Bald Bull is a fighter from Istanbul, Turkey and has his own signature move. He will charge at you to KD (knock down) you in one punch but can be prevented with a body blow. He is champion of the Major circuit

    • Soda Popinski: A burly Russian who enjoys drinking soda. He has a signature move in which he throws three uppercuts

    • Mr. Sandman: A boxer who can throw three uppercuts in a row really fast. He only appears in the world circuit

    • Super Macho Man: The World Circuit champion and millionaire who has a signature move up his sleeve. He can use his spin punches to his advantage
