Accountability at the Berean

Run to Birkdale, complete various painstations, run back

Discussied:

– What accountability is

– The different types of accountability- obligatory vs. willing

–  Who we are accountable to (and why you cant "hold yourself accountable")

– The benefits of accountability to ourselves and others

It isn't feasible to make all of these 3rd F discussions and studies, but if you aren't making any of them you are missing out in a big way. I encourage you to hit at least one of these every week. It's worth it

Examine what you believe. Take the time to explore it with some guys you respect and who are either going the same direction you are or the direction you'd like to go in. Share your life with them, ask questions, discuss your thoughts and beliefs. Decide what standards are in line with those beliefs and what steps you collectively can take to start living that way. Hold eachother accountable, help eachother grow. As a Christian, I can share that this doesn't mean being perfect or willing your way to being a better person. It simply means surrendering your life as your own and submitting it to God. In return you receive His grace and forgiveness, which covers your imperfections and allows you to live a new life, free from the guilt and condemnation you deserve. It means being willing to submit to the standards God has laid out in the Bible. Not to do them perfectly, but to seek to follow them, seek to be obedient, willingly receive correction AND forgiveness when you fail, and extend that same love and forgiveness to others when they fail.
