We were six strong men who set out to take on a Race City favorite, the Prostitute. So named because we spend so much time on the street corners. Maybe it's not really a favorite, but here's what we did.
The Warmup
YHC led the Pax around the front of DPK, but instead of the usual left turn around the building, we went right. We took the sidewalk down past the Fire Department, and Crafty's. It was difficult dealing with all of the catcalls from that fine establishment, but we made it through to the parking lot across the street.
The warmup consisted of 15 each- SSH, IST, WM, and CP.
The Thang
The Pax was split tonight. Three of us have seen this story before, and three were new to this workout. It's pretty simple each street corner has an associated workout. Every time you pass that corner there is pain. The exercises, all OYO, are as follows: 5 burpees, 10 merkins, 15 squats, 20 Carolina dry docks, and 25 LBCs. The pattern is 1-2-1, 1-2-3-2-1, 1-2-3-4-3-2-1, and 1-2-3-4-5-4-3-2-1. We ended with a short mosey back to the front of DPK for 10 dips IC, and 10 step ups each leg.
Mary
My typical Night Ranger workout either ends too soon, or without time for Mary. I won't say I'm dialed in yet, but I say my timing was better than it has been. Our Mary exercises consisted of – Freddie Mercury, WWII, Box Cutter, Cutter Box, and the W.
NMM
As always, it's great to spend my Wednesday night with this group.
We made sure to pay close attention to the crack that took Freedom down last time. No incidents with that part of the sidewalk tonight.
Although I heard at least once, watch out for ants, I laid down on a major ant thoroughfare and paid the price. I spent a portion of that lap shirtless, trying to pick, shake, and swat ants off of me and the shirt. Couldn't have been a pretty sight to any passers by.
Glad to see Left Turn made the trek down again.
Thank you again for the opportunity to lead.
