Embrace The Suck
YHC set expectations in the pre-blast that Tuesday’s PAINinsula beatdown would include getting wet and being cold and uncomfortable. Lot’s of mental gymnastics flowed through YHC’s headspace the night prior about a potential mutiny if shelter is not provided in the morning but also knowing there are lessons and growth for all of us in being uncomfortable – delighted to have 5 other PAX show up this AM and embrace the suck.
The cold rain was steady but only a little more than a drizzle during the entire 45 minute workout that went something like this:
After hitting a brief disclaimer / warm-a-rama in the HT Parking Lot, PAX moseyed over to the cul-de-sac loop off of Autumn Meadow Ln (right before the fire station) where a descending ladder of air squats (10,8,6,4,2) were performed including 5 laps around the loop. From there PAX moseyed over to the fire station, honored the flag with Pledge Of Allegiance, and hit some merkins and mobility work. Mosey up Charles Towne Ln to North Cove Road where PAX stopped briefly with planks and curb merkins. Mosey down North Cove Road stopping for air squats under canvas awning. YHC noticed Outlaw would not take cover at this stopping point and rightfully so – we were already wet, cold and unfortable so the cover served no meaningful purpose. PAX then moseyed over to the side of Harris Teeter for People’s Chair, Air Presses, Incline and Decline Curb Merkins, Praying Mantis, Quad and Pec Stretches. We would join Greyhound who was performing exercises under the FedEx Awning. Hope you heal up soon brother. Your dedication is inspiring! PAX performed alternating forward and reverse lunges, jump squats and MARY (popcorn style).
Grateful to lead at PAINinsula and especially thankful for the opportunity to be wet, cold, and uncomfortable together. Lively coffeteria this morning where the wet soggy PAX would be joined by Shake, Cally, Fenway, Einstein, Stomboli. Even had a Slingshot sighting as he popped over to say hi during his grocery run.
Thanks to Outlaw for your continued leadership at the finest AO in Cornelius and closing prayer this morning.

Perfect morning for some work! If it was easy everybody would do it.
Appreciate your kind comments @Possum.
It doesn’t quite feel the same but it’s great to get out and be around the PAXs.
Great work today from you 4! Especially in the thick of the heavy rain.
