Blocks and Ladders

Event Date

Apr 17, 2019

I decided to step up and fill a calendar spot on my kids birthday.  Here’s how it went down.

Warmup:

SSH x 20

Cotton Pickers x 15

R over L and then L over Right

Arm Circles forward and then back

The Thang:

We took a parking lot lap the long way to the block pile.  Back to the top of the hill above the practice field we did.

                Curls x 20

                Skull Crushers x 15

                Walking pushups x 15

                The Suck – Round 1:

Then we carried the blocks to the parking lot where I had cones setup 25 yards apart.  Everyone put their blocks single file at the end of a white line of every parking spot.  Pax lined up single file and started burpees.  The head of the line ran to the first block, carried it over head style to the next cone.  They placed it down on the parking lot line and sprinted to the next block until they did all 7.  Then they ran a parking lot lap and planked for the 6.  Pax 2 went when pax 1 was halfway through the blocks.  It went on like that for the round.

The Suck – Round 2: The line order reversed we did the same block exercise, but the pax waiting on their turn did plank shoulder taps.

We returned the blocks after round 2 with no time for mary.  We prayed it out with much difficulty raising our arms for CoM.

Moleskin –

  • I heard lots of chatter about how bad doing that many burpees sucks.  Be glad it’s not a Mulligan Q.
  • We ran out of time for Mary because Mulligan was trolling us with his slow run back to the blocks.  I think he knew what he was doing.
  • Mater left his lights on his jeep to illuminate the lauchpad.  Thanks, I guess it was dark.
  • I counted correctly today, too bad Clubber missed it.
  • In typing this backblast up 5 of the 7 pax names start with M.  Might need some diversity there.

Thanks for the opportunity to lead.  Sorry I missed those who couldn't be there today.
