Horseshoes are considered lucky. This morning YHC was lucky enough to join Omega and Hippie for the Blue Moon quadruple horseshoe workout.
The Thang:
We completed 4 horseshoe workouts with 11 miles of running. Each workout was a pyramid "scheme" with 20 reps x 5 sets. We had a grand total of 2,000 reps. We kept the traditional exercises at the core;
-Mericans
-Squats
-Carolina Dry Docks
-LBC's
-Low Flutters
For the first workout we subbed in Imperial Storm Troopers and Cotton pickers for the warm up. For the final sunrise workout we subbed in some Mary.
Moleskin:
– Super excited to have Hippie join in the adventure this morning… He is always a thrill to be around and it seems we always do great things together (Blue Moon Horseshoe, races and even rappel down sky scrapers)
– YHC suckered Omega into doing 4 workouts in one day. We challenged each other at coffee in front of the group and I knew he was committed then. He called the night before looking to see if we were truly engaged and we were!!!
-Very grateful to Outlaw for the PAINisula workout and all the F3 Men that have been so welcoming.
-During the 3rd horseshoe workout: the PAINinsula Horseshoe crew showed up in force. It was super encouraging and our fastest workout. It was also the hardest workout because we picked the hardest exercises to impress. In reality, the group does not have young eyes and probably couldn't see anything….
-By the fourth workout we started to fade but the rising sun gave us the energy we needed. Omega also motivated us by laying down his first double digit run!!! But he didn't stop there… He lapped part of the parking lot on the way back to get 11 miles!!!! Omega did that while crushing the all the exercises.
-All 3 F's happened at the workouts as we determined none of us are the boss at home, none of us can do life alone well, none of us are always in a life balance but all us can motivate each other!
Thanks out to Agony and Megaphone for EH'ing me. Special thanks to Callahan for naming me years ago but not really making a big connection. Thanks for being there several weeks ago when I really needed you. That day was a big turning point for me.
