Eleven came out to Cauldron this morning to see what the Q had in store. Holiday smartly opted for a more sensible (but perhaps more difficult?) virtual workout while DR. YHC concocted the idea of a bucket brigade which worked much better on paper that it did in real life. Let’s just say it’s a good thing the parking deck wasn’t really on fire.
WATCH OUT YOU MIGHT GET WHAT YOU’RE AFTER
A bottom-level warmup consisted of:
- IST x15 IC
- Mountain Climber x15 IC
- Merkin x10 IC
- Windmill x10 IC
- Dwight Schrute x10 IC
- Moroccan Night Club x50 IC
HOLD TIGHT, WAIT TIL THE PARTY’S OVER
Next up we attempted to move the bells to the top of the deck via the rear stairwell by lining up on the stairs and passing the bells sideways from person-to-person with the last person running up the stairs Indian run style to the front of the line to continue the handoff. The idea seemed sound in theory but in actuality the bells kept getting backed up. Either way, everyone had an opportunity to compare his bell with his brother’s before spilling out on the top deck. There we did the following:
- Upright Row x15 IC
- Overhead Press x15 IC
- Curl x15 IC
- Skull Crusher x15 IC
- Chest Press x15 IC
HERE’S YOUR TICKET PACK YOUR BAG
Next it was back to the bottom, but this time you kept your bell to yourself as we re-gathered in the parking lot (which was slightly cooler than the bottom of the deck). There we completed the same set of exercises with 20 reps each.
ALL WET! HEY YOU MIGHT NEED A RAINCOAT
On the next ascent, YHC changed things up by having the pax stand 3 steps apart facing forward. Each person would grab a bell at his feet and place it at the feet of the man ahead of him and repeat. The man at bottom would climb to front to continue moving bells to the top. I thought this would work better by allowing a man to have a backlog of bells, but it still proved difficult for the pax. At the top, we reclaimed our own bell and completed a third set with 10 reps each.
BABY WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?
Then it was back to the bottom and out into the lot for some Mary:
- Mason Twist (w/ bell) x12 IC
- Low Flutter (w/ bell) x15 IC
- Dot the “i” x15 IC
- Suzanne Sommers (each side) x20 IC
- Elbow Plank ~1 minute
- J-Lo x10 IC (Amen emceed)
For CoT, we took a knee and proceeded around the circle with each man either offering up praise for something to be thankful for, or a prayer request for someone struggling. We are reminded to remember the Sky Q’s presence in our lives by the good things we have, and to turn to him when the cross becomes too heavy to bear. Psalm 34:1-4
BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE
- Kudos to Holiday for continuing to workout virtually while DR
- Ultraman brought FNG Bruce Adelman out for his first workout. A naming for this NY native is scheduled for Monday. Coincidentally, today’s count matches the number on Edelman’s jersey #wink
- Bells in the stairwell make an awful racket. Same when dropped on the top deck.
- Stapler wins for most impressive looking bell but it’s a toss-up between him and Qbert for most weight. Solid work by both this morning.
- Amen could have fartsacked after sleeping through his alarm but chose to be tardy instead. #DRP
- He also skidded to a stop which had nothing to do with being late. #GasGiant
- I heard someone claim YHC’s feet were more than 6 inches off the ground for low flutter. What can I say? I under promise and over deliver for the M!
- Unfortunately, Jolly and Freepass did not make it out. They still have opportunities for a Blackbeard Q tomorrow and next Tuesday
- 8/11 for #coffeeteria after the workout
- It felt like Talking Heads with all the #mumblechatter this morning #SWIDT
