Nine of @f3Isotope finest fought off the fartsack to fartlek at Fartlek. We are now good to keep the AO name for another 6 months.
A one mile warm up and recovery runs of ~0.4 miles between speed intervals provided good opportunity for mumble chatter about kids soccer, European and beach vacations, the marvels of the universe, the Big Bang theory (not the TV show) and C. S. Lewis novels.
Following the warm up, most Pax completed 5-7 fartlek speed intervals of ~1/4 mile each. The Force really pushed himself today, after feeling guilty about adding 5 lbs during his annual beach vacation. Kumquat, being the beast that he is, mixed in some hill intervals, while Frogger and Jorel did a mini tour of Wynfield.
Announcements:
- Q’s needed for many AO’s in July and August, including Samson and The Caboose.
- 7.4 Red, White & Blue run on July 4
- Watch for AO convergences on July 4
Prayers raised for:
- Mother of Kumquat’s friend, Shay, who’s expected remaining life is two weeks
- The Force’s mom who is facing a grueling 12 hour day of chemo treatment
- Aging parents of Pax and friends
- Those suffering from excessive heat across the country, especially the elderly
- Flooding victims in the Midwest
- Unspoken requests
It was a great morning for a run and good to push ourselves outside of our comfort zone. Great work men!

Nice route and way to push us, Beave. I was smoked after 4. I’ve now got just over a week to decide if I can do the 7.4 on 7/4 I signed up for or if the 7.4 km will do just fine (I think it probably will)…
The Force, you’re looking strong. You’ve got 7.4 miles, no problem.
