“C” is for Cookie

A week or two before this time last year I showed up to The Mighty Jungle just before 7am on a cold Saturday morning.  Jersey Boy had the Q and he was the only one there.  He said since noone had shown up before I did that he was thinking of heading to BRP to join the pax there.  I said that is fine because I can go home and bake my Christmas cookies.  He laughed about it and we headed out of the lot.  Top Gun was rolling in as I was heading out, so I turned around and let him know noone else had showed up so JB was heading to BRP and I was heading home to bake cookies.

The riducule I received over the next week for skipping a workout to bake cookies was quite intense.  I took it and laughed along with it.  The following Saturday at Mighty Jungle I brought some of the treats I had made.  The understanding was there once I pulled a bunch of bins out of my trunk along with plates and plastic wrap for everone to take some home to share with their families, and I said that my total cookie count was 2857.  Everyone enjoyed them.

This year Blackbeard asked me a couple months ago if I would pick up a Q in December.  I would like to say it was due to his thoughts on how great of a workout I could put together, but in reality I am sure it was because it was that time of year for cookies.  So I humbly obliged and said that it would work out great for me to share this year's batch.  This year's batch was much larger due to more people on our list.  I make a platter with 48 cookies on it, and this year we made 62 platters, and also enough extras for us and to share with pax.  The grand total was 3523 (was 3469 but had to make a couple extra batches to have enough to share).

This time I was prepared with a table, and picked up some DD coffee.  Here is what we had:

Magic Cookie Bars

Spice Cake Balls

Chocolate Truffels

Cherry Cookies

Chocolate Peanut Butter Thumbprints

Chocolate Crinkles

Peanut Butter Cookies

Peanut Butter Ball

Fudge Roll

Blackbeard stated that now that I hav doneit twice it is now a Mighty Jungle tradition, so I hav to be sure to keep it going.  Challenge accepted!!

Oh yeah, we also worked out befor all the goods were dispensed.  Here is what we did:

Warmorama

SSH, Cotton Pickers, IST, Hillbilly

Partner up – everyone grab a block

P1 farmer carry snaking through the parking lot

P2 10 merkins, 10 squats, 10 LBC – run to catch partner and flip flop

End back at start by the shed

Trace the lines for 10 parking spots

Mosey over to te wall for people's chair – hold while each pax states what they are grateful for in 2018 (some took longr than others and mumble chatter commenced)

mosey back to blocks – low curls, high curls, full curl, rocky balboa, lawn mower, bent over row

Blocks back – mosey closer to the cars and where the cookies are

Circle up and each person choose an exercise – can't remember them all, but we did them.

Recover, recover

It was a grat day and we had a lot of fun.  Looking forward to it again next year, so mark your calendars! All convergences will be welcome.  Merry Christmas to all!!
