Cally Does Kareoke at Saed’s

The pre-festivities began with a Smithville Park OTB Boot Camp Beatdown at 7am. it was quite a showing as 13 of Lake Norman’s finest warriors joined YHC and answered the call for the annual 3rd F opportunity to help our neighbors in the Smithville neighborhood at 8am.

FNG-1 second post for Rusty Kennedy 41, will now be known as Wally World – welcome brother!

PAX made good usage of the lacrosse field at Smithville Park and performed a soul-crushing burpee / WWII ladder of 11’s across the width of the field. Not surprising, Omega appeared most comfortable on the lacrosse field. Our faithful Jersey Boy, battling a significant injury, stayed close in sight and performed solo exercises. PAX headed over to the picnic shelter to make use of the tables: split squats, incline merkins and dips were performed. Airstream was noticeably missing at this point as he apparently stayed back to assist JB, or at least that was the consensus assumption. (more on missing Airstream will follow) YHC found an unexpected Rock Pile just off Smith Circle(??) where we would perform rock curls, bent-over rows, and presses. PAX would do a short loop back to Smithville Park but not before stopping at Saed’s parking lot where Cally blessed us with his singing voice – performing 2 lines from the Pina Colada Song and saving the PAX from burpees. An extra trivia question offered up by YHC would be missed so a burpee penalty would be applied. (Who sang the Pina Colada song? – Ruppert Holmes) 🙂

When we arrived back at Smithville Park, PAX were quite concerned to realize Airstream was still missing?? Wait – we thought AS stayed back with JB? That appeared to be the case, but we later found out the he headed out to find the rest of the PAX and was quite confident we were at the Kain Center. Ironically, that was YHC’s initial plan, but an audible was called since JB stayed back to the park.

Thanks to Moses for showing concern and venturing out to find Airstream!

Everyone ending safely back at the park and ended with MARY. Oh yea we did some bear crawls and sprints across the length of the field for good measure.

Thanks to all the PAX who showed up for the workout and community service opportunity. We made very short work of the cleanup as apparently not many residents left junk for us to pick up so PAX got a lot of time back Saturday morning to spend with family and friends!

Jersey Boy – keep pounding brother and showing up ! Hope your recovery continues to progress!

YHC continues to be grateful and inspired by these crazy men who choose to do hard stuff in the morning!

Humbly in Christ,

Possum
