Challenge Met

12 for the monthly 1stThursdayChallenge this morning.  You know the drill…

3 exercises, reps starting at 21 then counting down by 3 till done.  Lap between each set of all 3 exercises. Total of 84 reps of each, and close to 2.25 miles.

8-Count Burners, Merkins, then Dying Cockroaches, then the lap.  Then repeato but 3 reps less than the last set.

Finish in time for MWAR (Mary With A Rope).  All pax get a turn on the rope, each pax takes a turn at calling an exercise and cadence.

Moleskine:

Great weather this am – 65 degree, no rain – much improved over January’s 1stThursdayChallenge

All but one of the pax were ready to roll on-time, not to mention names, but only slight delay as BEP arrived and immediately changed clothes before launching – got to dress for success, right?

The fun started with a warm-up lap, SSH  x 23 (why?, cause it’s my birth date), Windmill x 10, CP’s x 10, EST’s x 10, and TS’s x 10.   And then a trip to the rock pile.  Basketball courts are still under construction, therefore, used our alternate rock pile on Hugh Torance Pkwy, and the dirt covered parking lot for the main event.

MQ needed to step in right away as YHC called the first exercise something other than an 8 count Burner, thinking man maker was in the title somehow.  It took counting to 7, 21 times to fully wake up.

Inspired by Snake Eyes, audible was required to add the “shoulder touch option” to our Merkins; otherwise, we stuck to the plan in order to officially complete February 2019’s 1stThursdayChallenge.

Post workout announcements were bittersweet – a number of upcoming F3 events to look forward to, and F3/LKN is strong as ever, but the shock and sadness of losing our brother Schneider cannot be put into words.  I am sure we’ll hear more on how to help his family in the days ahead, and understand there are containers in front of his home to drop off meals and donations. This is also a wake-up call of sorts to reach out to those you haven’t seen in the gloom in a while, and lean on your F3 brothers when needed.  Thoughts and prayers to Michelle, Reagan, and Jenna.

Thanks to 9-Lives for taking us out and thanks to The Force for the opportunity to lead this am.
