0511 – Text from Calypso, he isn't feeling good
0521 – Respond to text while driving aggressively around Morgan Freeman in a silver Tacoma who obviously didn't care if Miss Daisey was late for her run
0531 – YHC emerges victorious from thou car to bask in the glory of being second to the workout, which brings up another point, it's always best to not fartsack/quit. Always. Jenny was 1st to the workout, was he trying to stretch or get back in his car to leave
0533 – Tanrum pulls in, safety first with his blinky vest while driving to Caboose
0610 – Little Finger's car is there, he joins us all for coffee
We discuss hitting the long standing traditional loop of the Caboose, maybe Charlie the old fat pirate would show up and join us. We discussed on the run the best way to recruit runners is showing up to running workouts.
Freepass and Gentlemen, I am telling you, there is a Charlie in each of your lives. For us, our Charlie is a Big scared pirate. Sure he has been out in the oceans and he has seen much of what this world has to offer, but he believes his little plundering journeys are over, he is mistaken. There is a time to be born, and a time to die, Charlie isn't dead yet, so we can't leave him behind, and we can't leave him at the coffee shop where we found him. We must take him with us, for he is our big man child.
And when we got later into the run this morning, and Charlie was nowhere to be found, I was not worried, because Calypso reached down deep and found the same exact amount of quit he needed to match Charlie. Calypso is a damn hero!
When we all returned to Main St., Charlie Roger was still not there sword in hand, waiting to buy us all coffee if we joined his relay team. Like a decent pirate should. He is not a quitter, he is not too old to do hard things, he is a beast of a man waiting to pounce on the next opportunity for greatness. And for that we shall plant, because as the late great Barry gibb said, one day there will be a time to reap. Lastly, don't be afraid to share this gift, there is a Charlie praying for it right now, go find him.
