Chilly Willy & TACOs

Event Date

Jul 17, 2018

It all began with a game day decision. YHC and Taco OG Turncoat were trading Twitter PMs to determine the location of today's Taco Tuesday. After TC suggested "The Local" YHC quickly, and somewhat firmly shut it down… Que Onda it is, a crowd favorite, without the crowd today.

YHC arrived early, one because he said he would, two he got out of a meeting earlier, three he needed to confirm a secure environment (get a seat), and D he really enjoyed his talk with a drunk gentleman walking Trade St, asking for the quickest route to an ABC store. The talk led us to the hypothesis that this gentleman, let's say Jimmy, was in search of establishing himself into the Charlotte region as a piece of the culture, much like that of former Chilly Willy, who stated he just wanted to drink until he died, which he did in 2012 on 7th street, but not by liquid…a vehicle struck him. YHC did his best to conduct an intervention and offer what assistance he could; however, Jimmy had other ideas and quickly sauntered off towards Tryon, and his venture south toward the ABC store in South End.

A six top was securred and your list of PAX begin to show. Free ships and salsa shared by all, and Boone kicked in for a bowl of cheese dip, probably cost more than three tacos. This being the first visit to Que Onda by Mortimer and Boone, TC and YHC attempted to guide them towards the beef and carnitas.

Most of the feast's discussion was around Mortimer's 100 mile 30hr race in Vermont this weekend. Insane, YHC gets sick thinking of leg three of the basin run, 8% of what Mortimer is about to do. Nonetheless, carbs were consumed, and bills were paid.

My score is a 9.5 and QO remains my pick for $2.00 Tacos on a Tuesday in UpTown. Service, smiles, smirks, and food are top notch here, add in free chips and salsa, and a PAX willing to share cheese dip, how could it get better.

Missed many of the regulars, and the other OGs' but it is the time for DR trips and having babies congrats @Ramrod!
