Clocks and Rocks (and other stuff)

Event Date

Jun 24, 2021

When Amen asked me to Q Wilderness, I was happy to do it but still hesitant, as I don't know the AO that well.  9 Lives gave me a few tips and I checked out a few recent backblasts, and felt like I had a plan together.  I planned more than we had time for (that's always a good thing) — but here's what we did:

Warm-o-Rama:

Mosey Hugh Torrence to Mayberry to Park Grove and back to clubhouse, stopping for stretches at each intersection (calf stretch, hip/glute, quad)

Around tree – Slow exercises — IST, Toy Soldier, Long Snapper, Windmill, Mountain Climber

50 curb mericans OYO

The Thang:

Mosey to pain clock (lunges along the way)

-15, 18, 21, 24 squats w/ 1.25 revolutions

-15, 18, 21, 24 scorpion drydocks w/ 1.25 revolutions

-24, 21, 18, 15 big baby crunches w/ .75 revolutions (extra Mary while waiting – mason twist, pretzel crunch)

Mosey to rock pile for 15 IC:

-Dead lift to curl

-Squat to press

-Low dolly / eye buster

Mosey back to clubhouse

Recover, Recover

Moleskine:

– What a great morning!  Great guys, great weather, and I think a pretty good workout

– This was the first time I think I have met Estwing, who started posting in May – always great to meet new PAX

– Macbeth rolled in just a little late, but made up for it with a strong effort throughout

– Ultraman and Jersey Boy did a nice job of taking care of the 6 but also pushing the pace at times;  Good team management skills!

– This was also Jersey's first time at Wilderness, I think.  It's really good to post where you don't regularly post.  You meet new guys, see some you don't see on the regular, and vary your workouts based on what the AO offers.  Glad he joined me at Wilderness

– Thanks to Amen for asking me to Q and for taking us out.  He's doing a great job with his MQ duties at Wilderness — sign up to Q a workout and help him out.  There's tons of stuff to do there.

– 3 of us (JB, Macbeth, WH) joined the Java gang for coffeeteria at SBUX Birkdale.  That truly is the best part of the workout.  If you head home after, you're missing out!
