Who: F3 Men to build a Learning Garden at Paw Creek Elementary school.
What: There are four separate building projects planned for that day as follows:
- Build Cedar Shed – using a kit from Lowe’s. We will also use sand and pavers to create a level surface for the shed.
- Assemble sets of 6 4X4 cedar garden boxes
- Clean-out and remove weeds from an existing garden
- Remove any dead trees from the garden area
Where: Paw Creek Elementary School, 1300 Cathey Rd, Charlotte, NC 28214
When: Saturday April 22nd at 8:30 am for a couple of hours. Workout starts at 7:00 am.
Why: REAL School Gardens is an organization that creates learning gardens that grow successful students. To help students succeed, REAL School Gardens creates learning gardens in low-income schools and trains teachers how to use them to improve student engagement and academic achievement. April 22nd also happens to be Earth Day, so this is a great reason to get outside, help build a garden, and have some fun and fellowship
