As the clock hit 5:30 the pax was told "let's go, follow me"
A quick lap around the ELHS parking lot was done at a reasonable pace. As the leaders of the run are leaving the parking lot to head to Catawba Springs I look back and see no pax behind us. Wait that's them, way way back in the distance. After arriving at Catawba Springs a track lap was completed to bring the distance to 1 mile. As the rest of the pax arrive they are encouraged to complete the additional lap and reality sets in that this is a surprise Murph.
Moleskin:
-Lots of complaining was done this morning. A few highlights:
*You didn’t tell us where we were going. (That’s why I said follow me. Shouldn’t have been running at a 12 min mile pace)
*You didn’t say bring a head lamp. (It’s dark every morning at 5:30. If you want light bring it. Very little time spent on the roadway)
*There was a mud puddle on the track. (Oh, you mean the one that has been there for years. In the exact same spot)
*You didn’t tell us to bring our sippy cups. (You can survive a 45 min workout in 45 degree weather without H20)
*You can’t leave the launch pad so soon. (Sure I can. We start at 5:30 not 5:32)
-Just kidding. Heckling is all part of the fun. (These were real complaints though)
-It was a pleasure to lead you men this morning. We may do it again Saturday.
-Nice to see C# again. Welcome back.
-Hefty was upset he didn’t have his rucksack for the Murph. #BeastMode
-Clark arrived early to make up for having to leave early but apparently spent the time sitting in his car watching midget porn or something along those lines.
