YHC needed to get a few miles in and the Q spot was open for this week, so why not help out the MQ and just sign up??? Means YHC gets what YHC wants when YHC was planning to post anyway. More pax should consider this!
So the PB (for both Samson AND Cauldron on Fri) went out and the loose plan was in place. When YHC arrived to see 5 other pax awaiting me, YHC immediately noticed all 3 were very capable runners, and thus the weinke was quickly updated and we were off.
Started with a short lap in the LFC parking lot, stopping by the blocks for foreshadowing, some long-snappers, and to give Snake Eyes a few extra minutes to show before the pax ventured off campus. No Snake Eyes, so we were off.
Across the street and into Cedarfield, the pax all wondered what direction we might go…
RIGHT! We took a right turn down the greenway. YHC would stop at the first intersection to group everyone back together (YHC was planked for 5-10 minutes waiting on the rest to arrive). We would do 10 Merkins in cadence, then be on our way again.
LEFT! We took a left on the greenway which dumped us out onto the cul-de-sac of New Oak Lane. YHC would warn the pax as they gazed at the daunting hill in front of us that this might be the longest, straightest road in Huntersville. Seriously, this was long like YHC’s big, long, thick, black…
We would mosey up the hill, then up and down the numerous hills New Oak has to offer, until the road ended at Stratton Farm.
LEFT! Yes, we’d take the left by as Calypso would remind the Q (clearly an attempt to gain points in the complex formula) that since we were not circling back at all, we might need to audible the plan if we were going to get 3 miles. Well duh…
RIGHT! With the reminder from Calypso we took a quick right (don’t recall the name), moseyed past many pretty lights, turned in the cul-de-sac, back up the hill, across Stratton and to the end of this street as well, cul-de-sac lap and back to Stratton again.
LEFT! With a little distance added, we were on pace and on track to get close to our 3 miles with some time to spare, so YHC took the pax back to the AO launch where we’d mosey a couple areas of the parking lot before ended at 3.0 on the dot back at the aforementioned rock pile.
Arm-burner! Grab a rock. YHC would call for The Curl. YHC would count 10 in cadence, followed by a “smooth” handoff to Die Hard, who (eventually, and after points were deducted) would call 10 in cadence, followed by Tammy Faye. The pax’s guns were a burnin’ so YHC called halt. Rocks down, shake it out. Next, YHC would call for The Skull Crusher, and YHC would call 10 in cadence then go the other way in the circle, so there was a smooth handoff to Calypso for 10 IC, then Die Hard for 10 IC, then halt. These BURN! Shake it out, then since Ultraman, simply due to his location in the circle had not called cadence yet, YHC asked him to call cadence for both curls and skull crushers. UM would call 10 in cadence of each, then put his rock down. Serious deduction in points as the pax all wanted him to call a full 30 IC of each like we had (as a group) done before him. Oh well…
Rocks back, mosey back to the cars and “Recover-Recover” with a couple minutes returned to the pax to use however they wish today. YHC would then go on to present the winner of the complex formula (Tammy Faye today) with “the peppermint” (STK tomorrow at Cauldron), we’d have announcement, prayer requests and YHC would take us out.
Now it’s 6:15 (PM).
Moleskine:
Seriously, prayers up to Lawn Dart and his family. LD’s sister is having tests this week after doctors spotted suspicious things on a lunch scan or other tests. Prayers for the best diagnosis possible, expertise from the doctors and a full and fast recovery for Sista Dart. Give that man a hug next time you see him (trust me – he gives awesome hugs).
See you all at The Cauldron, then the Christmas Party at 760 tomorrow!!!
