Coupon Tote Tour of North Meck Park

8 pax decided that a little April frost was not going to get in the way of a beatdown at the Viking.  Here's what all the fartsackers and Fallouters missed:

0500: Auto led YHC on a 3 mile Standard through Monteith Park (aka Middle Earth), North Meck Park, and the Viking parking lot.  Solid 2nd F, as always.

0529: 8 pax present and chatting about all the studs who ran Boston Marathon yesterday.

0530: 8 pax present and ready to get to work.

WARM-O-RAMA:

Mosey to usual warm-up spot – parking lot in North Meck Park.  Disclaimer.

  • SSH x 25 IC
  • Toy Soldier x 15 IC
  • Slow Deep Squat x 15 IC
  • Mountain Climber x 15 IC
  • Merican x 10 IC

THANG:

Break up into two groups of 4 and assign partner numbers P1, P2, P3, P4.

P1s: Grab 30# coupon (assembled from six 5# bricks, duct taped and gorilla taped together) and begin to Zamperini toward tennis court pavilion.

P2s and P3s: Commence lunge walk behind P1. 

P4s: Perform 5 burpees.

When P4 completes burpees, P4 runs to catch P1, takes coupon, and P1 rotates back to lunge walk with P2.  P3 rotates back to burpees.  Continue rotating and advancing until pax reach tennis court pavilion.  Stop at pavilion and drop coupons.

Tennis Court Pavilion:

  • People's Chair 30 sec
  • Touch Them Heels x 15 IC
  • Hands on Ground, Feet on Wall – 45 degrees
    • Peter Parker on Wall x 10 IC
    • Hold 10 sec
  • People's Chair 30 sec
  • Air Press x 15 IC
  • Hands on Ground, Feet on Wall – 45 degrees
    • Parker Peter on Wall x 10 IC
    • Hold 10 sec

Back to coupons and re-form P1-P4 teams.

P1: Zamperini coupon with overhead press toward far pavilion.

P2 and P3: Commence bear crawl in line behind P1.

P4: Perform 5 burpees.  When finished, run to catch P1 and take coupon.  P1 rotates back to bear crawl with P2.  P3 rotates back to burpees.  Continue rotating until pax reach far pavilion.  Stop at pavilion and drop coupons.

Far Pavilion:

On benches….

  • Dip x 15 IC
  • Touch That Butt x 20 OYO
  • Incline Merican x 10 IC
  • Bulgarian Split Squat x 10 OYO (each leg)
  • Dip x 15 IC
  • Touch That Butt x 20 OYO
  • Decline Merican x 10 IC
  • Bulgarian Split Squat x 10 OYO (each leg)

Back to coupons and re-form P1-P4 teams.

P1: Carry coupon with full curl back toward parking lot.

P2 and P3: Commence duck walk in line behind P1.

P4: Perform 5 burpees.  When finished, run to catch P1 and take coupon.  P1 rotates back to duck walk with P2.  P3 rotates back to burpees.  Continue rotating until pax reach halfway point (near rock pile).  Stop and drop coupons.

Pair up and perform 20 partner plank situps.  Flip-flop.

Continue P1-P4 march back to parking lot, with duck walk.  Stop at parking lot and drop coupons.

MARY:

All pax circle up around one 30# coupon.  One pax to middle of circle to perform squat-to-press AMRAP with coupon while next pax calls 10-rep Mary exercise.  Rotate through pax until all pax have hoisted the coupon and called a Mary exercise.

Can't recall which pax called which exercise, but I believe we did Low Flutter, Low Dolly, LBC, Mason Twist, Rosalita, Dying Cockroach, and the W.  And then Auto finished us off with some Mericans.  Finally, 1 minute of elbow plank.  Recover, Recover.

MOLESKIN:

  • Thanks to this great group of pax for getting out on an unseasonably cool morning to join YHC.  Really enjoyed leading this crew.  I've been wanting to incorporate the coupons for some time… thanks for indulging.
  • Several clown cars today – one classic clown car from Birkdale carrying Tiramisu and Dry Rub (thanks for the BCC support, fellas) and another featuring Stapler and Commando.
  • Speaking of Commando, he killed it today.  Don't know the back story on the name, but hopefully it has something to do with either the classic Schwarzenegger flick or the classic 1980s arcade game.
  • YHC is pretty sure that he inadvertently switched 4-person teams halfway through the workout, and then switched back at some point.  Don't know who else may have switched, but one thing YHC noticed from having been on both teams is that Stapler was moving when he had the coupon in hand.  YHC had to run almost twice as far to catch him after completing burpees.
  • Not certain, but Fescue may have switched teams as well.  Seemed like he was always taking over for YHC on the coupon.
  • YHC's form on the last few reps of derkins was embarassing.  Hope nobody saw that garbage.  Somebody tell the Q not to call it if you can't do it.
  • Solid coffeeteria with Tiramisu and Dry Rub, as well as Major Tom, who rolled into SBux from Fallout.
  • Thanks to my Spartan battle buddy and BRR teammate Mayhem for reaching out to YHC and asking for a Q.  This was YHC's first Q of 2018, thanks to all of the run training from Jan-March.  Gotta get a lot more dates on the calendar if YHC is going to match YHC's 12 or 13 Qs in 2017.  Who else needs a Q?
