Congrats, you lucky person you!
Also in attendance was The Tongue. I might not sign up on the website either if I had been give that name. A Walt Mizelle classic. Rob, please do not let that name put a damper on your experience. There is likely only one of you. Own it. Be the best 48 yr old The Tongue that ever was.
As it was Friday the 13th, 13 reps was the theme. We started with a warmup (pretty standard except for single leg SSHs) and then moseyed over to the bars for a routine of thirteen.
Start with 12 pullups and 1 toes to the bar. Run a lap.
Work your way down on the pullups and up on the toes to the bar, always completing 13 reps. Lap after every set.
So, 11 pullups + 2 toes to the bar. Lap
10 pullups + 3 toes to the bar. Lap
All the way down to 1 pullups and 12 toes to the bar. And one last lap.
This routine was a bit ambitious and the toes to the bar looked more like knees to the chest about halfway through, at least for YHC. Qbert got bored about halfway through and ran to get his spear and some music to liven things up. That was supposed to be speaker not spear, but the typo seems more accurate for Qbert.
Next we partnered up for some partner situps and partner leg throw downs.
Then moseyed to one end of parking lot for light pole suicides, running to light poles and backpedaling back to start. Did this until reaching the full length of parking lot, where we did 25 WW2 situps and backpedaled home.
Last leg of the journey was single leg hops the length of the parking lot. Or perhaps the breadth of the parking? right leg first all the way down. Turn around and come back on the left leg. Finished up the tough stuff with 10 partner pullups, two partners each take a hand of the third partner while third partner pulls himself up.
Then for some bonus fun we grabbed basketball and head over to the "court" where two hoops awaited us for a 5 minute game of 3 on 3 under the lights. YHC can't recall the outcome, but I do remember the skill level was lacking, outside of Qberts pullup 3 that splashed in off the backboard and Caboose throwing down a few thunderous dunks.
All in all, a great start to a Friday morning.
