10 gluttons came for some punishment, and YHC was all too happy to oblige. I even busted out some new coupons to work into the beatdown, and arrived early to stash them by the pull-up bars.
Things started out well enough, as we mosied to the field by the fountain for some warm-a-rama. Soprano, Springy, and a couple of others stayed on the sidewalk so they wouldn't get their panties (shoes) wet!
Next, we moseyed to the stairs for some wheelbarrows and burpees – 2 sets each.
We made our way over to the loop by the adoration chaple, and did partney carries 1/2 way around. That's where the plan fell apart! I had cleverly chosen Scrappy as my partner, thinking he was the lightest of the group. On my 2nd turn carrying him, i took a few steps when my calf locked up, and i promptly dropped him. This was the 3rd time in 3 weeks that i strained that muscle, and it left me hobbling for the rest of the workout.
I did my best to stick to the rest of my plan, while working in some selfish calf streching, and calf-friendly pain stations.
hopefully my little mountain hiatus will allow sufficient time for a full recovery this time!??
It was great to see Springfield back in the gloom for the 2nd time in a week. He assured us that he plans to be a regular again.
