It was a beautiful morning for a post.
As is customary – we started with the Pledge.
As is customary – Lone Star joined us post pledge.
Not so customary – the warm up started and ended with a set of 5 Burpees. Many of your favorite warm up exercises sandwiched in between the burpees. The 5 +5 was a nodto my 55th birthday yesterday. For a. briefmoment last night I wondered ifI should stop 11 times during the workout and do 5 burpees at each stop to get in 55 burpees total. That idea was quickly replaced by 5 + 5.
We hit the wall, we hit the rocks, Stromboli hit his head. Moseying through the playground he didn’t pay attention to the bar holding up the swings and there was a thud that echoed throughout the Westmoreland complex. He said he wished he was Full Moon and that would have never happened.
The PAX were full of critiques for the Q this morning. We debated the use of the term Recover – and when it should be used. Each time I did a variation on a standard exercise they asked if I had been spending too much time with Jersey Boy. He’s got quite a reputation.
We raised up several PAX who are dealing with aging parents – Moses on the passingof his stepmother, Moby’s mom who is having cataract surgery and Cousin Eddie’s mom who is having some health issues.
Always an honor and a privilege to be with you fine men.
Peace,
HOLIDAY
Happy Birthday Holiday!!
Thanks Brother
The lump on my head is in honor of your Sammy Hagar birthday!
That’s a big commitment. Thanks.
Sorry for the critique on Recover. We ALL Know that I am not qualified for critiquing of any Q. It was many for humorous poking of Fun. “Recover” is more commonly heard after a ground exercise and the Q is switching to a standing exercise. That was my only intention for mentioning it.
Happy 55th Birthday 🎂. Or as Gnarly GOAT says, “55th time around the sun”
Greyhound – all taken in good fun. The ball busting is part of the process. We may need a ruling on Recover. My understanding has been that it’s like “at ease”. Use it when ever the PAX can change position to do something different – not just Recovering from the ground to your feet. For example – if we were doing Windmills follwed by Long Snappers, you wouldn’t say Recover until after the long snappers were done, because both are done in a similar stance. If you’re doing Windmills and the Q says recover – then you can stand up straight and wait for instruction. Without Recover, you should stay in the position you’re in and wait for further instruction. I’ve been known to be wrong before….
GH…..I agree with Holiday on this one…..just sayin 😎.
But you never use “recover” when there are cold Miller lites around…..just sayin again!
