Draft Day at Cauldron

PB went out just prior to the NFL draft getting started, thus just like the Cardinals – the Pax was on the clock!

11 pax showed up and were split into 2 teams:  Team F and Team 3.

On the wall, there were draft boards for each team, with positions listed similar to drafting for Fantasy Football.  Also on the wall were scouting reports by position (QB, RB, WR, OL/DL, Defense, etc).  Each board by position had a list of "players" (which were exercises).  Just as in the NFL draft, the players/exercises are all different, and all of varying values.  Thus, the exercises all had a point system.  For example, there were 4 QBs in the QB draft board.  Top rated was Burpees x 20 valued at 45 points.  2nd rated QB was Burpees x 15 rated at 40 points.

So all the exercises/players were up on the wall, as were Team F and Team 3's blank draft boards.  Team 3 got the first pick, team F got the 2nd and 3rd, Team 3 got the 4th, etc – tried to keep it "fair".

So Team 3 went for the top rated pick and selected their QB burpees x 20 with the first pick of the draft, thus filling in their starting QB on their draft board and getting 45 points.  They then began their 20 burpees while Team F made their first pick.  F picked the burpees x 15 and put 40 points on their draft board.  Now each team has a QB.  Team F then went with the "best available" (highest points on the board) but i don't recall exactly what that was anymore.

So on and so forth, both teams filled their draft boards with varying strategies.  There was discussion, arguing, time running out and even some cheating.  All in good fun and in the end…

Team 3 beat team F on draft day by 2 points.

Additional exercises filled the time, then MWAR.

Happy Draft Day, fellas.  Congrats to Team 3 – hope you enjoy your prizes (YHC is movning and thus in cleaning out the attic found some extremely valuable prizes destined for each talent scout from Team 3.

Aye.
