OK, OK. 13.1 miles with Duvall, the figurative Mayor of Davidson and perhaps literal step son of our very own Jolly Roger, depending on which version of events you choose to believe. What happens at Myrtle Beach stays at Myrtle Beach, right? Yes, the marathon may have been delayed, but the show must go on. And a show it will be! How low will Duvall’s half marathon go? How close will Hall Monitor come to cashing in that policy he took out when this whole terrible idea first took shape? #s2k Where: Birkdale Village at the starting line of the Huntersville Half Marathon When: the gun goes off at 0630 Saturday morning; however, there will be opportunities to spectate along the course. Anticipated fly bys and times: St. Mark @ 6:50 Wynfield Entrance @ 7:15 McAuley (near Optimus’ house) @ 7:40 Birkdale Pool area @ 8:00 And plenty of other points along the course. Here’s looking at you Rosedale, Cobblestone, and Torence. Why: Because once upon a time we did difficult things that pushed us out of our comfort zones. And because, quite frankly, we all have a history of making questionable decisions. How: (…can you get involved?) Glad you asked. Come out and run a few miles, stand in your front yard and cheer (or laugh), show up for the post-race celebration at Birkdale Starbucks*. You say your love language is heckling?
