The anticipation of Royale's first Q hung heavy in the balmy July air. When YHC finally did arrive several minutes before scheduled departure, he was greeted by a large number of PAX and there were rumblings of attendance records being shatterred.
The route link provided in the pre-blast was either a preview of a simple trek out to the Cedarfield greenway OR an advertisement for some testosterone pills. The Count was sent the latter and he respectfully did not show.
Moments before launch, a large contingent of headlamps were spotted on the parkway and joined the group. This faction was loud and unruly as YHC soon learned.
Down the parkway we went, bearing down on the greenway as the PAX cheered and applauded the route every 1/2 mile or so. Unfortunately we did lose Frogger who is nursing an injury and wishing the best for him in his recovery.
As we approached the greenway intersection, the unruly and late-arriving faction of runners announced they'd be making a left at the turn, rather than the right that was specified in the testosterone pill ad. The rest of the PAX stuck to the route and were rewarded with a nice tour of the western part of the greenway, into Cedarfield and then back to Wynfield.
It was a good time running with the group and thanks to all for making the VQ a memorable one. Thanks to Diehard for the opportunity to lead.
