Field Trip to Wilhelm Park

There was a light mist in the air, but not enough to keep 10 other men from emerging from their caves and joining me on an expedition to new territories.  My preblast prescribed headlamps, so the PAX were filled with intrigue, as YHC rarely runs in a direction requiring such devices.  My goal today, though, was just to make it to Wilhem Park behind Cornelius Elementary, do a little workout, and head back.  Here's what we did:

Brief mosey to corner of HT lot for IST, Long Snapper, and Toy Soldier.

Mosey to Walgreens lot for 10 squats IC

Mosey to Husky Paint lot for 10 Manmaker Mericans

Mosey to Cornelius El. playground for 10 pullups and some plank

Mosey to Wilhelm Par (we made it!)

8 corners workout:  Corner 1 – 5 Mericans; Corner 2 – 10 Mericans; Corner 3 – 15 Mericans; Corner 4 – 20 Mericans; Corner 5 – 20 Mericans; Corner 6 – 15 Mericans; Corner 7 – 10 Mericans; Corner 8 – 5 Mericans;

Pretzel crunch, Repeat 8 corners with split squats, each leg.

A bit of broga followed — Downward dog, calf stretches, pigeon, etc.

Mosey back, stopping along the way for intermittent Mary — Reach-ups, jackknife LBCs, low dolly, side crunch;

Back to launch (1 min late)

Moleskine:

– I try to challenge myself — to make workouts Canuck-approved.  This one was a success.  I had 2.68 miles, and I think he opted in for every exercise.  Win!

– The allure of needing a headlamp seemed to spark some interest.  I just wasn't sure how dark the park would be.  Headlamps were a good call, though, due to sidewalk construction and oncoming traffic.

– Possum led the pax in dad jokes and bad puns

– Steady Eddie (Cousin Eddie) completed a Fission standard for what was probably the 252nd week in a row (minus the IronPax challenge days).  Scrappy joined him and tried to keep up.  Hacker came running from a different direction.  Standard, or just parking at DD to make coffeeteria more accessible?

– Hippie's got ideas for a future Q.  Watch out…  Also, thanks for taking us out, brother.

– This was Fescue's first time at Fission.  After confusion on where to park, he jumped right in and crushed it.  Also, Mayhem hasn't been to Fission in a while.  A kotter of sorts?  Anyway, great to work out with these dudes.

– Hollywood very quietly crushes every workout.

– Jersey Boy has a friend that has been having some home problems.  Thanks for sharing and hope things get better for Nate.  When he heals up, let's get him out to a workout and show him some support.

– Coffeeteria met the usual quality standard.  Goat joined us, and while he was bantering with Hacker and Jersey Boy at the far end of the table, we watched the employees pack up an order for 50 dozen donuts.  Still wonder where they were going.  That's a lot of donuts!

That's all, folks…
