Fightclub – battle tested

Every once in a while we must jump in and tear our abilities under stress.  Practicing is good, this is where we train out mind and body to move in certain ways.  We program responses in order to know what to do. But the stress of a confrontation can cause severe disfunction, leaving us in a very dangerous position. So, the only way to get used to functioning under stress we must place ourselves in a controlled but stressful situation. So, as stated before, we jump in.  And we find the moves are lost in a daze and our hands don’t move to where we want them and our feet stumble over each other. This is normal, at first, and will eventuallly move to the next phase of distraction. Where we are more concerned about how we look out what others  think of us as we are engaged in the confrontation. This will cause us great harm. A quote from the “last Samari” ,,, too many minds in the fight, a mind on the audience, a mind focused on how we look, a mind on the apponent and finally a mind within our head. There should be one mind and the focus is on everything . Any way, enough of that stuff.

we paired up and proceeded to engage in a ski version of a fight. The practice is important because if you don’t know what to do in slow speed with no stress,, the real fight will make it almost impossible. We practiced the drills as attacks now and the blocks as controls,, and in a short amount of time the pax started moving as trained fighters. This part is fun, well it becomes fun as we see the improvement and recognize the effectiveness of  our strikes.

But this morning YHC was distracted.  Distracted by the thoughts of those children being slaughtered while they attended school. YHC does not understand the delusional actions that bad actors do against children.  The reasons don’t matter,,,, protecting our children is all that matters. May all our prayers go out to these families that will certainly struggle to get through these diffficult times.
