Fightclub – targets are important

Event Date

Dec 09, 2016

Damn it was cold,,, but a few of us decided to bundle up and come out and test our abilities in battle. Getting the body to perform these techniques can be a bit frustrating, it is necessary to get the mind and body to move in very specific ways,,,,, Creating muscle memory and refining moves to the level approaching perfection. Two concepts are important,, precision and acuracy.  Precision is reproducable  movement,, in the exact same manner.  Acurracy is hitting the exact spot that is intended.  It is when these two concepts are combined that a person is able to produce the desired effect in battle. The long path to achieving this goal is monotonous at first but leads some rather fun training sessions (as well as some bumps and bruises).  YHC had to change the intended lesson plan for this mornings training due to a request from Fightclubs most consistant attendee.  This person who shall remain nameless (Motorboat) is giving a presentation today and was concerned that facial contusions or other noticable side effects of training may have a negative effect on his ability to succesfully perform his lecture.  Good luck Motorboat,,, i am certain that your commitment and dedication that is evident in your training will serve you well in your profession. Finger-licking-good made his initial appearance at fightclub this morning and was very enthusiastic about learning this art.  His natural abilities and talents will serve him well.  He has some training in the arts and he was a gymnast in his youth,,, and we are all aware of his near perfect form when running past all of us (with near comical ease).

So we began as usual,, reenforcing the drills by doing them over and again,,,, but in order to stress the importance of movement,,, we put the techniques to the test in un-opposed combat situations.  These adaptations to the drills will teach the body to adjust to variations in space and position.  The targets remain the same but how to effect them and in what order will change with each variation.  People never stay were you want them to stay in an altercation,  so it is important to be able to adapt to the ever changing dynamic of a fight.

The cold put a damper of some of the plans of YHC. I am hoping to be able to resolve this problem soon.  Thank you once again for allowing YHC to share his past with you fine men.  I look forward to facing each in battle and testing each other in order to make each other better, stronger, faster.
